Some very minor rust starting to happen on both sides right in front of rear wheel wells. That got ground out and some welding when i was welding the holes for spoiler and antenna shut.

Was it surface rust? Or was it rotting through?

It was rotting, which is why the welding was necessary. It was worse on the driver side. Most of the really bad area was under the molding piece that mounts there. The little one.

Good stuff. Just be prepared in a few months when I start on the Cosmo. It's getting a complete tear down and restoration.

Got some more stuff done. I put some runs in the sealer on the front bumper so I left it alone so I could sand on it tomorrow and then paint it by itself. Soon I will start sanding/buffing the car so then the misc pieces can be installed such as belt moldings, etc.

Here's pics. The pics of the fornt bumper are of the runs in the sealer but you cant really see them in the pics.

Started sanding on the car today as I wasnt able to get into the booth. Tomorrow I should be able to get in there and paint the front bumper. Next week I should be able to squeeze in again for the back bumper and then everything that needed painted will be painted.

Also decided to paint the bumper off the car as it would make it much easier. Im sure that the stress cracks on the sides will appear when I install it but in reality they probably would have shown up on the first highway drive (which is taking it home) anyways so whatever lol.

I will have pics once the bumper is painted and also will show updates as the sanding/buffing progresses.

More updates to come soon. I plan on either spraying the bottom of the hood or spraying the rest of the rocker guard on the bodykit pieces. Most likely will do the underside of hood. I'll have pics as it happens.
Did you do anything special to paint this stuff?

Cleaned and scuffed it all up really good. If you wanted, you could spray adhesion promoter on after its all scuffed and ready to go.

Newest update:

Sprayed the front bumper today, heres what it looks like.

Heres a few "in process" pics, yes thats me.

Going with some 18 inch chrome 5 spoke wheels. Nothing crazy, actually very simple.
