1988 SE 2+2 build

"My 7's background story"
I came across a 1988 rx7 for sale as a parts car on craigslist, I responded in a heartbeat hoping that it was in half decent shape. I ended up meeting the girl that owned the 7 and she took me to an alleyway in which the 7 was sitting behind a boat, a camper, and two full size vans hidden from view against a fence "unless you went looking and knew exactly where to look".
The 7 had seen better days thats for sure, there were trees growing into the undercarriage and through the engine bay coming out of the gaps in between the fenders and the hood. The 7 was covered in dirt and leaves from undriven summers and falls passed by.
I ended up paying $400.00 for the car but had to wait two days to retrieve it.
Brought my bowie knife and hacked the trees out from under the car so it could be moved after my Expedition towed the boat out of the way.
The girl lied to me saying that the key was in the center console, after searching the entire car there was no key anywhere, so out of smartassery I put the key to my 85 GSL-SE in the ignition and surprisingly started the car right up.
I drove it home only to find out along the way that I had bad Apex seals.
Ive got another 6port 13B with scalloped rotors and new carbon apex seals ready to be dropped right in.

What are my plans with my 88 se 2+2?
Custom interior- marine vinal and new carpeting+some goodies.
Engine-Mild race build "from the streets to the track everyday driver".
Body-body kits, spoiler, and under glow.
Suspension-full 32way adjustable coil overs, bushings and new sway bars.
More than I can list right now but I will keep updates coming on here as soon as they happen.
Attached are pictures from recovering the car to after it was cleaned up.

The 13B that is going in my FC is from a 1985 GSL-SE RX-7. So I guess its going to be a Frankenseven for a while. I am waiting for the physical title to come in now before I do anything. Should be a month or less.
There were some parts Ive found on the car that are interesting, cross drilled and slotted brake rotors, multilink rear end, a short throw shift kit from andys auto, and the front A-arms say mazdaspeed. when I drove it home I found that it handles a lot better than my little brothers 1991 FC but he has a solid axle in the rear and mine has independent suspension all the way around..

Bell housing bolts and oil cooler lines left as well as removing the radiator and the old motor is out. Im hoping the rear rotor and rotor housing is reusable but the engine was shaking really hard when it ran so I doubt it. Getting closer to the new one going in and this project running like it should!!

Newer 13B is in!!

Got the other 13B in from the 85 GSL-SE... With two drivers side motor mount brackets it literally bolted right up without a hitch. Now to clean the rest of the engine bay, and the rest of the engine parts need restored as well. Intake manifold is a pain in the *** to clean, any tips? I am using a 1" and 2" wire brush attachments.

Wheels

I am keeping the wheels that came with the car. So in between that and waiting for Pineapple Racing to ship my block off plates and OMP rotor housing plugs to me, ive decided to clean, sand, and powder coat those nasty old wheels.
In reference to the engines emissions delete, there are no vaccume lines "except whats needed for the engine to run", air pump delete, air box delete, Port Sleeves delete, and 5th and 6th port sleeve actuator delete.

Also in reference to the delete's what I forgot to list is Throttle body vaccume butterfly and vaccume hose /actuator delete, OMP Deleted and blocked off at the block and also at the intake manifold, Intake manifold vaccume hose and actuator delete, EGR valve delete, exhaust gas tube delete, overflow tank delete, washer fluid tank and hoses delete. Wires that are no longer needed are being clipped and capped and the rest of the wiring harnesses are being hidden for a good start to a clean tuck job. The issue is hunting for places that aren't hot and also do not move alot. Think iv'e found my own way to do it.
Does anybody have any Wire Tuck Tips?
Thanks

Finishing Touches on the motor

The motor is almost complete now. Hand painting in this heat is a pain but well worth it.
There was a mix up at pineapple racing with my parts but Rob over there got it resolved for me, Thanks Rob.

In the last picture is the new add on. CarbonFiberVinyl.com gave me a Full sponsorship on a 9foot by 5foot sheet of CarbonFiberVinyl. Best quality on the market and most realistic as well, Check them out @http://www.carbonfibervinyl.com/
Recently Installed the Blue hoodpins from 3A Racing over the weekend with the Vinyl.
Ive got some interior parts and the tail light assembly's done in the Carbon Fiber Vinyl and will post up pics soon.
We also Scored a Full sponsorship from PineAppleRacing for the block off plates and plugs needed for the project. Check them out @http://www.pineappleracing.com/
Great customer service, outstanding parts and reasonable prices for good quality parts!
