1987 RX7 GXL project
So I picked up very first RX7 a couple weeks back. Now my second car after heavily upgrading from a car I'd rather not admit to have owned haha. The fella I got it from said it was a blown engine....Well, new spark plugs and upgrading from the ones that were caked with oil (I'll post some pictures of them in the next little bit) and more than they should have been even with a high mileage car, a new battery and topping up the coolant, it decided to run; all for $600.
I decided to insure it and take it for a spin around the block. It's insanely flooded and the intent was to clear all the crap out with a good highway run but the brakes need some attention from sitting for months and then the rpm's decide to drop upon braking. New pads and rotors to be ordered in the next few days and then I believe (after looking through forums) I could just clean the BAC valve and from there she'll run smoothly, if not then most likely look around for a vac leak. So for $600 I got a running RX7 with an aftermarket exhaust (still dual exhaust) that I can't recall the name of (swapping to an Apexi N1 single most likely), a limited-slip differential, some decent wheels with a bit of wear and tear but no matter..and to boot a more rare colour being the darker gray.
Anyways, as a quick note of what I plan on doing to this thing and will most likely be posting updates when I add a couple of new things to it are as follows (for now a lot of random things apposed to full performance and tuning):
1. Apexi N1 Exhaust
2. Entire interior swapped and re-done considering how ugly it is
3. S5 taillights swapped in
4. Momo Corse steering wheel (for now boss kit, perhaps quick release if I have extra cash)
5. Audio deck because of ******** thieves
6. After market seating...probably both driver and passenger (will be a while cause I have seats lined up off another car when I buy its interior)
7. Engine swap with a street port somewhere in here, already lined up just gotta get around to it
No specific order, just do what I can first depending on my money situation. I've had this thing for a couple weeks and I've already got probably $1000 waiting to be dropped into it...uh oh.

I'm over on Vancouver island near Nanaimo, (decent little scene of 7's over here too, 4 2nd gens and 1 3rd gen in my town alone) and yeah I was pretty happy. Just randomly thought, "hey, lets just try it for ***** and gigs" and it really seemed to want to turn over so I started trouble shooting it.

Oh yeah it does. Putting on some new brake rotors I picked up today hopefully tomorrow and then it should be good to drive. Rpm stopped dropping upon braking. Just needs a weld on the exhaust cause it's leaking some oil. Then it's good.

Yet another addition to the perfect display of how little this car was maintained. I introduce to you, the holy **** rotors..this one took two of us an hour to get off and beat the living hell out of it with a 7-10lbs sledgehammer..was really warped on stuck on there.
Anyways, a nice before and after shot haha

SOLD! Traded rather. Buddy of mine had a 1986 n/a with full interior and what I would have eventually swapped to, manual windows (much more reliable). We had be same condition cars and since he wanted to strip his and mine was basically there, we thought screw it...trade!
(Going to start a new build thread for the new car I think, seems right anyways)
