Which Weber Shall I Order

My on call paycheck is coming soon and its about time i get new toys for my mistress

i am going with the RB Side-Draft manifold setup, now idk which weber i want to put on it, its either the 40 dcoe or the 45 dcoe, i have a stock port 12a and i dont plan on porting it or rebuilding anytime soon, but would the 40 be too small for my car or will the 45 be too much for a stock port? i have a full streetport exhaust system from Racing Beat, now i just need to ditch my Holley(its sold dont ask ) and get a weber, the car is not a daily driver so no choke doesnt matter to me, its my weekend honda slayer

I'll try to take a stab at this based on what I have seen and told works, but none I have tried for myself. If it must be the weber...go for the 45 dcoe. If you are open to suggestions, I might say try the OER 47...very similar to the weber (uses weber jets etc) and there is a member on here 2Wankel, who sells them and uses them with great success. I would imagine the greatest of all the side drafts would be the dellorto 48 dhla, but tough to find as they are no longer produced for our cars. Hope this helps. Good luck with your decision.

i found rotaryshack which has decent prices for some manifolds but most of their links arent working for me, would throttle response be better with a downdraft? i really just want a super clean looking engine with nice clean looking parts that just blend together, i dont want a super fast car but i dont want a turd either haha, the holley has a nice pull to it but its bulky and ugly imo, i am getting the car ready for some sticker bombing and paint and the engine bay needs tlc

but back on topic sorry i have ADD pretty bad sometimes

can you tell me more about oer, is it all weber guts witha different name on it?

Lowend might suffer a bit with a down draft, but there are guys like j9fd3s who can help you solve that. The longer runners of the side draft have been shown to help with the lowend torque that is a bit more desireable on the street

if you want a sidedraft, get a 48 not a 45 so you there is no need to buy another carb shall you decide to port your motor. spend your hardearned cash wisely

I have no experience with OER 47 but I have been "told" that not all parts are interchangeable with weber. carter has a 4psi but I prefer 7psi. holley red is good. A holley blue has too much pressure that most regulator cant regulate down to below 6psi; in fact, I have one and I'm contemplating of replacing it. mallory is too expensive in my book

I run a 48IDA and I love it! My advice which ever Weber you go with buy a manual, wide band and be ready to invest in a assortment of jets, air bleeds and emulsion tubes etc... Like everyone stated stay away from Rob @ Rotary Shack.
