Viva Las Vegas

So went on a little mini vacation to Las Vegas with the family to catch the monster Jam world finals. Day 3 into the trip and my lady jumps on a few business calls before we head to the track. I kill some time and jump on Craigslist looking for whatever is out there and stumble across an add for a 78 RX-7 that is suppose to be some former show car with Hayashi wheels. Truth me told I only found the car beause I was looking for some HRE 504's and found this in my search. I call on the car and it was only 6 mintues away from the stadium so I figured we could stop by on the way there. I took one look and dropped the cash for th car right on the spot. The body is immaculate and wheels look like brand new with not a curb or nick on them. The motor was suppose to have ran when parked and is all stock and orginal.
Interior wise the car is a little beat up, but it's mostly just seats and dash work so will be very quick and easy fixes. I have no real plans for the car other then cleaning it up a little more, getting it running again and dumping it about 2 more inches. After that I will put exhaust on it and run the **** out of it.

Here are the pics of my Las Vegas jackpot!!!

Hope you all enjoy.

loaded for trip home.

after a good cleaning and polish

Intresting treatment on the rear, it's been filled, a solid reflective pannel added btw the tail lights and a rear bumper modified to accept a plate. Looks good.

It's got a few other cool little tricks done to it all over. Very simple and definately very clean. Just needs to be lower and seats replaced and I will be much happier with it.

It has a full suspension techniques kit and bilstein shocks under it, and came with all the 80's goodies like a bra, and code alarm.

Unfortunately the car isn't a 78. It's an 80. But either way it's a very cool car.

I'm kind of up in the air on wether to keep it or not right now. I really like the car and all, but at the end of the day I still have my RX3 to contend with so I am more then likely going to be selling the car and keeping the wheels like was planned. If anyone is intersted in the car please hit me up. I will continue to work on, and improve it as time goes on, but for sure will be willing to part with it if. I tried to post an add in the classifieds, but seems the moderators didn't approve it or something. I don't know.

Oh and the car is now running.
I managed to save the blue california plates too.

Pertano! Long time no hear!

Interesting... that bumper didn't start life as an 80 - - no pushblocks.

Beautiful car. If you get so far as replacing the seats, I'd be happy to haul the old ones away for you.

If I had space for one, I'd be seriously tempted to buy her off you.

Yeah man it's definitely been a little while. I am waiting on some seat brackets to show up but when they do I will pm you and let u know. I just got another rx3 so I kind of need to make some room for it. Either way I am working on the car this weekend and hopefully will have all the mechanicals sorted out by then.

Maybe by the time the next canyon rum takes place I can be tearing it up with this little guy.

Yeah man I knew eventually I'd get back into another one someday. Just glad I got that RX-3 a few days later too. That is the one that I'm definatly more excited about.

As far as leaving broke I have never left Vegas in that state. Have way too many friends out there and I rarely play any games. Just party a little, eat alot and get comped alot of places beacuse of some great friends.

then it sounds like you got a decent deal, which is rare because almost all the 7's i see listed up around here and stupid overpriced. not talking haggle room overpriced but more like 3X actual value overpriced.

So I put a little work into the car this past weekend. I ordered up some seat brackets from SCAT for my seats and bolted them in place. What a huge difference it made on the car. I've also finally found the ignition switch and center console piece for it. So finally some forward progress now that Toyotafest is over.

From this.

To this. Forgot to take pic after I got the 2nd seat in.
