That is the nicest 1st gen ive seen! I have those same DRW, i have the drum setup and theres two screws on them that restrict my wheels from sitting flush against the mounting surface what do you think the best way to mitigate that without going to disc?! Help for a fellow first gen!

Remove the screws. The lugs and wheel will keep the drum in place. Either that or take the drums to a machine shop and have them countersink the holes (or do it yourself) and then use bolts with a countersink head.
This thing is going to be even more awesomer (requires poor grammar to express level of awesomeness) than it was before. Any idea what wheels your going to go with to fit the flares?

Sweet car dude! Never thought rocking a setup like this in ottawa was possible with the roads n all haha
Where do you go to uni? |
awesome guys, this forum is a life saver! Now if i can get the backfire and idle problem corrected... With the screws out do i need shorter wheel studs since sinking them tight goes through the hub and into the rear brake internal components? Im such and amature...
|
hey, no you don't need to get different lug bolts. they are perfectly fine. do you have any vac leaks? that will hurt/change and idle. also your mixture screw might need adjusting. also check your timing. it might be off if you are backfiring like crazy.
check out http://foxed.ca/index.php?page=rx7manual go through the FSM and it will help you with setting up the carb. |
Omg if you got CR1's you'd be driving my dream set up! I hope you do tho mad props sir. Sadly I'll be in school and probably won't have the work I want done to mine :icon_tdow
I can't wait to see this thing hopefully in person again. |

no 4.5 on an 8 is exactly 0et. people don't take into account the rim lips when they do rim calcs. a rim lip is 0.5" so an 8" rim when measured is inside lip to inside lip. so an 8" measures 9" hence 4.5 is half of 9.
on the cheap you can get racing beat springs that go an inch lower. anything beyond that you will have to replace your dampers and get some sort of coilover kit, check out respeed. |

So its been quite some time.
so i decided i would CAD up some plates and use my water jet resource to make them. here is the 12a turbo mani that i made. Attachment 717459 Attachment 717460 Attachment 717461 so the engine in the grey car actually gave up on me so its time to get the swap underway. I pulled both the engines and swapped trannys. Attachment 717462 Attachment 717463 here is the 12a with my turbo mani on it with the s4 turbo sitting nicely Attachment 717464 next i finally got my rear wheels after 3 pairs they are still the wrong specs but i think i'm going to keep these ones. so here is a rough idea how the rears are going to fit. Attachment 717465 Attachment 717466 I'll have some more pics of the engine in the grey car. I have to swap the fuel system over to the grey car and hook up the intercooler, oil cooler and rad. |

Very clean build!!!

love the exhaust setup
|
Been following your build since the start looks so fucking dope man love it. What size/offset wheels did ya end up going on the rear?
Also, have you had any dramas with the camber tops giving no articulation for the springs? I recently got a heap of gear from RE-Speed shipped to Australia and am concerned about their camber top setup. |
I love the rims and the nice turbo setup
greets from germany |
Love your FB dude, I'm thinkin the same thing for mine I wanna be pretty low on diamonds 15x8s. But i'm doing an s4 TII swap lol. Good to see another FB owner from Ontario!
Oh and looking at those turbos you should hybrid whichever one your using. I'll be running a T04B//HT18 hybrid. |
Still lovin this build. I'm sendin my 13b out today to a friend to see what's wrong with it. You planning on going to h2oi?
