the place that painted his car did not want to paint and warranty the hood being they did not do the body work on it. I think sam is going to have his buddy match the paint of the car and paint his custom hood

Well, actaully, I'm either painting the custom hood black, or doing a carbon fiber wrap on it. The APC stuff is coming off. I just haven't decided what to put back on it. I wanted to post up some pics today before our local meet tomorrow, but I spent the all day getting the the 17's back on it, reundercoating the fender wells, cleaning the interior, and giving the girl a bath. I promise to get new pics this weekend. I apreciate the commets guys. This has been a long and sometimes painfull project. This car has been a reminder for me to appreciate how beautiful these cars are.

Well.......it's been a while since I updated this thread. I do have something to add that's not as much as a performance addition, but still an addition all the same. When getting the paint and body work taken care of, I made a desicion too stay away from the body kit. The stock body lines were starting to grow on me, once I got rid of the molding and emblems. That left the 17"s I had on there sticking out like a sore thumb. After a long painstaking search, I have finally found a nice clean set of 15"X7" ROH Snypers. I think all the hard work is finally paying off.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. I never thought that I would ever get this car to this piont. I didn't want to throw a bunch of money at it, and never appreciate all the hard work. It's easy to take a car to a shop, give them all your money, and you take credit for it. But it's so satisfying to be able to tell someone, "yeh, I made that part" or " I did all the labor myself". There have only been a few things that I have to credit to other people, but I love every sweat and tear that I have put in this project.

It's been a long and cold couple of months. Now that we are getting some nice warm days around here, I decided to start finishing up a few things on the interior that I have been putting off. If anyone else has burgandy interior, then you know what I starting to get into. The rear speaker panels have some sevier sun fade, as did the rear carpet. I had picked up a good rear carpet a while back, but it's black. Add the faded speaker panels, and it starts looking like crap in the hatch. Well I decided (after talking to good friend the other day who told me about SEM) to try and refinish those panels. I always doubt any claim of "spray painting" plastic, but there are some newer products out there specifically for that. So........it couldn't look any worse? Anywho, here is the products I picked up for the job. SEM burgandy interior paint, and SEM Solve adheasive and wax remover. I also used Scotch Brite pads to scuff them up and remove small scratches. Just let me say to do this in a WELL ventilated area. This is some stinky stuff.

I sprayed several thin coats to keep from having any runs. This is how it is recommended.

Both sides with 5 coats of paint.

Back installed in the car. This paint states that it can also be used on carpet. If another can can do the hatch carpet area, I might be doing that next .
