Bit of an update on the motor. Tried to complete the build today with a new front cover and bits, BUT when we install the manifold and the alternator, the one sold to me was meant to be a MFR one. As you can see by the pic's, the positive post will short out to the manifold.... Will post in the techincal section for some help! Here are some pic's....... The engine with out the sump, as we have another question, on why the MFR centre plate is 1/2 mm raise on the manifold side????? You can tell this is the genuine MFR plate, because of the bolt hole for the dry sump pipe. More questions? The motor.....mmmm

Is the spacer on the wrong side of the alternator? Do the pulleys line up?

Yes, they line up. I try an auto electrician and match one up, I guess.

that's a bummer, space is tight there, i had similar results with an FC water pump and S3 alternator.

Hi Kim

No, I'm going with the original set up, as the factory 12a engines used the wet sump set up. I've on sold the dry sump set up, to fund the rest of the build, this will see the car completed early next year, (if I pull my finger out)
BTW did you sell those group b doors, there cool and rare as.

This is ongoing, just a few things behind the build. Currently working on the SSR MK 3 rims, they have been spilt and getting additional bolts from 8 to 16, plus putting on the wider outers and inners rims that was spun up and won't be welded before putting back together.
Then the fuel tank will be put together and pumps.

Keep an eye........
