That's a good idea! I will add some studs or threaded holes to mine.

Oh man this is gonna be fun to watch being built up. I love the lines of the wide body kit and usually i dont like widebodies. The rear just looks amazing. Much props, cant wait to see it coming together.

I tried that before but didn't like the interferance with the oil filter, slave cylinder, starter and driver's right foot (gas pedal), shortened driveshaft, shifter position etc. Leaving it all in the stock location is far easier, and if you break something, it's easy to fix.

They say the 20B weighs like 80 pounds more than an S5 T2 engine. Well, if you move the battery to the back, that reduces the front end weight by 40 pounds and shifts it rearward. So in reality, the front end only gains 40 pounds, and so does the back end. I like that idea more than shifting the entire engine and tranny rearward.

I understand how you are thinking, but i have already done all the other tihings that you mention here, like the firewall, the tunnel for the gearbox and driveshaft, all this is allready done bigger, the driveshaft i have to make new anyway since i use a volvo rear axle.

The pedals is no problem to fix, and I will find a solution for the oilfilter:P

Nice project!
The tech questions have been asked, so I'll ask something else
How's the car mounted to the "spit" to turn it upside-down? I'd need something like that, but I'm afraid of damaging the car...

That not a big problem, use the holes and bolts for the rear and front bumper.

If you take a look you'll see that this mounts are in the frame of the car, so it carrying it self with no problem..

It's a rotisserie for a car like a rotisserie engine. It's far easier to spin it around than to constantly jack it up, let it down, jack it up, let it down.

Looks great man! Do you have any more pictures of how you modified the firewall to fit the 20b back farther? Can't wait to see it all together!

Looks really good. I remember those rally RX-7's very well. I was only a little boy back then, and the official team was running belgian plates. Seeing that car of yours coming along nicely kind of brings back the days where I'd say I wanted a RX-7 when I was older and everyone just saying "yeah sure".
Well, what color are you going to paint it? Somehow the original rally paint-scheme seems the way to go
