My long term project

Hi everyone my name is Carter. This thread will be a progression of my LONG term build. I started this build in high school and got the rotary bug. So lets start this from the beginning. When I was 16 I bought my first 81 Mazda RX-7 all red, interior and all. It had a running 12a in it but had an idling issue. It was completely rusted around all the wheel wells and floors but I loved it. I ended up pulling the 12a and selling it after buying a S4 13b. After opening the 13b to inspect it the housings and rotor was trash. Being discouraged I left a dream for a bit. I had a shell of a car I loved. I was scrolling on facebook one day and came across a decently clean fb shell for $800. I low balled the guy and bought it for $300. It was full of spare body parts and almost rust free.

So I restarted my project with a clean body and a bunch more knowledge. I started striping the body and hunting for rust. I removed and repaired all the rust that I could find. I had a mint clean slate. I installed all the interior pieces from my other car because I loved the red interior way more than the black. Then I got busy searching for parts for my dream build. I wanted to know what it was like driving a modified Japanese car from the 1980's. So I only searched for rare classic Japanese parts besides key engine components. I also wanted it to be wider so buying ZG flares was a must. I ended up creating my own headlight duct. I took a spare headlight cover and cut it and welding some steel in to make a duct. I also bought a Omori kg/cm2 boost gauge, tomei air/fuel gauge, tomei multi stage boost controller and HKS Power flow filter. I bought those because my plan was and is to put a Turbo II engine into it. Here are the parts.

And this is pretty much where I am at. I am trying to save up to get an engine and the rest of my parts. The engine is the next big step. Finding one is the difficult part. I am trying to build my car and save up for a house so my car will be a long term project but I am proud of it. This last picture is the last one I took of the car. I hope you all are going to ride along with me on my journey helping me push myself and helping me along the way. Thank you for reading. I don't know when the next update will be but stay posted lol. Till next time!
