Quick update... The paint is getting close. All interior, underside and engine bay in finished colour. Body and kit primed and high build on ready for final rub back and paint. Final colour due to go on later today. Then sort the striping/decals etc and reassemble. Would have liked a completed car for Christmas, but maybe one with all the body work done and rolling on its wheels and suspension will have to do.

Thanks Gents. Hopefully in a couple of weeks it will have all the body kit on, decals, and be rolling on race wheels and suspension.

Cheers for the positive feedback all.

Managed to find some time to get some work done today. Sweating like a rapist though. Was effin hot in the Racing Dynamics shed. (Southern hemisphere....was 95 degrees F in the shade,..)

Finally got the car on its wheels. Bolted in the front subframe and MCA coilovers and put the front brakes on. At the rear I got the full rear assembled and wheels on. Decided the 32GTR calipers looked rough so left the rear brakes off and have sent them off for a tidy up and full service as they were sourced second hand so are of unknown history.

Rear shock cannisters are currently just bubble wrapped and cable tied. Will need to get the fellas to fabricate some mounts for somewhere on the diff.

Car is a bit beach buggy spec at the moment but should have an engine and gearbox in shortly so will start to settle and have heaps of adjustment on the coilovers to get it where it needs to be.

So moving forward from here the guys will get the engine and gearbox in and start fitting out the engine bay. (intercooler plumbing, dump pipe etc) I will deal with some of the cosmetic stuff and dress the doors up and get the dash in and other bits and pieces.

Some pics below.

Front shocks and brakes on (343mm 6 pot alcons)...

Wheels on. Thankfully no caliper clearance issues. Spent alot of time with CAD templates so was confident but nothing like seeing the actual final product on the car. Offset is spot on too.

Rear watts linkage, shocks, diff etc all back in.

And finally back on its wheels. Some minor tweaks required with the flares etc to brace them in position away from the tyres.

Cheers fellas. Got away for a few more hours today. Got the door handles and mechanisms etc back inside the doors. Replaced all the rubbers with new factory mazda jobbies. Nice that you can still get genuine parts. Got the new side mirrors fitted. Was a bit torn as to stay genuine period style or go mod carbon....my carbon fetish won over. On that theme I also got the carbon door cards fitted up. Now just need to fit some porka RS style red webbing pull loops to close the doors, and some lexan windows with a pull strap fastening system to hold them closed.

Also got onto fitting up the rear lights and fuel filler. Happy with the new location. Makes for an easy straight run into the drop tank.

So steady forward progress. Hopefully engine and box in next week and get cracking on the engine bay.
