Also turns out the gold wheels are basically useless. They were re drilled and the inserts are falling out. I have some sa wheels though.
I've been looking at the ford 9 inch, I see drifting dad has brackets. Is there any more work than just welding those on, like a new master cylinder, driveshaft, etc.
Buttoning up the engine i also started the front brakes. Engine should be in tomorrow and the rest of the parts to get her going should be here by the end of the week.
I know people do paint fabric and it can come out really nice. Have you thought maybe about exchanging it for black? I only say that because your engine bay is looking really nice with the black and red and I bet the interior would as well.
Also, more importantly, amazing progress and great work!

I was originally going to do black, but after a while looking at rx7_brap's interior for a while I really liked the red. I'm definitely keeping black on the door sills and trim that goes arround the pinch weld. And I think there will be a good ammount of black with some of the trim and buttons etc.

I'm just saying I'd try dye before paint. Painted fabric sounds... sticky.
But I'd go with black interior over trying to make two different reds agree with each other. Even if the colors are the same fabric is gonna reflect light a very different way than painted metal.
Why not black interior with red stitching? Or all the exposed plastic bits painted with the same base you used on the exterior.
I'll just have to see how it looks.
got the oil cooler finished and installed
Yes, im using the crusty rad mounts. I plan to make new ones that have intercooler holes and are smoothed out.
Got the engine running today, unfortunately not only is the carb spitting out gas at even 1 psi, its leaking from every possible gasket, and i had a wire short on the radiator and turn my brand new ss clutch line into the only body ground on the car. Other than that everything went well and i did a little grilling afterwards for my friends .

Reason: Clarity
Another question I found some direct fit jets on this thread how would I make an educated guess on the size to start with when making the primaries 24mm
edit: the process of hogging the carb enlarges the stock jets so I can go from there.

What you have is the standard 1981-1985 exhaust manifold. It will be fine until you get your header and other exhaust on. The only issue without an air pump wpuld be the cats.
Might need a smaller air bleed orifice. Fuel jets might be fine.
Ever tuned a DCOE or webber? The nikki is pretty similar in operation.
How long do you plan on driving this thing without the "whirly exhaust"?
I was planning on making a turbo style exhaust and just atatching it to the stock manifold and downpipe, what do you mean by whirly. ive only tuned an edelbrock, where is there a good thread to learn about how a nikki works.
I suppose I could spend the money on the disassembled rb header sincd its not too expensive.
