This was not a ride of enjoyment.. This as been an ODYSSEY! ...I owned this car for 2+ years and had only bought and drove this car just 1 TIME. July 9-11, 2013 - ...B4 it was "wrecked"???
The pics posted here was what the car looks like once \i got it back from the 1st bodyshop with the additional damage to the front Left bumper header panel and fender..
BUT, After waiting for over a year for the car to be repaired and with no work done to the car I picked. Then I discovered that while in the bodyshop, the car suffer a 2nd mishap and was now also damaged in the front as is evidenced by the removal if the headlight and turn signals...
I then had the car taken to a 2nd bodyshop to have the repairs to the rear quarter panel done.
...AND Being that it was no longer a real original unblemished 1978 RHD Rx7 anymore.. came to the conclusion that I may as well build the car with one of my spare engines that I had laying around for years.

I started repairing the seams that was damaged B4 send the car off to the 2nd bodyshop, as it seems to me like all these bodyshops do, is bitch up the car and cover over whatever is not immediately visible to the casual observer... Then charge a lot of money for repair when nothing significant was really worked on...
I began cutting away all the gnarled up metal and closing up the damaged area.

Engine and spare FD engine built as my backup for now, until I get around to building my 2nd 3-rotor 20B spare engine. Had a Turbo II gearbox modified (shorter shifter extension housing) in order to allow the gearstick to be placed in the original position with the longer 20B engine.
Now to focus on the wrecked car..

More views of the carnage... I had to stitch that rear quarter back together... Next its suspension selection and wheel selection... and mods to the rear end. Gold wheel on rear is 18"X9" 5 lugs and it fits up under the fender/wheel wells without touching.

Started taking some front wheel measurements... Silver wheels is 17X9.5" up front.... it fits as you can see... with Turbo II brakes too. 235 40 17 tires.. for those who want to know. Gold wheel is 18X 8.5 with 225 40 18 tires.
Began closing off the repaired carnage(damaged) of the right rear wheel well.
Relocated the battery above the gas tank behind the rear seat..(old spare tire location).
16X8.5 (black) wheels on front and put the car away for a few months.. Time to hit the road again... Gots some flying 2 doo...
