Good Ole Ray
Got my tranny mount, engine mounts, and shifter bushings in today from Ray at Malloy Mazda. Will also be buying Rotary shacks short throw shifter. Hopefully this thing shifts smoother as silk.
I attached the oil pan and baffle over the weekend as well as labeled my wiring and cut the fusible links to integrate the fc fuse block and start the battery relocation. That obviously will be the next update.

Suspension
I need a little experienced advice on suspension. Does anyone have experience with Techno Toy Tuning coilovers ? They sell true coilovers for our cars with the shock absorber adjustment. They seem to be quality and can be ordered in any spring rate. After this post I'm going to do some research on them. I also considered the camber plates but I'm not too keen on cambered out stances at all. Also they sell Roll center adjusters to eliminate bump steer, Not too worried about that either...

This is a post Lindahlish posted about Techno Toy Tuning
"I actually emailed the owner of T3 during his R&D of the front coilovers (he had the set for the rear already, just wanted to make some for the front due to some prompting from guys like us on this forum in a different thread). He was awesome to work with, was willing to learn, and asked great questions that led to the set of front FB coilovers he has now. I informed him that the SA and FB have slightly different configurations in the front so he's now looking for a set of SA shocks and springs to make castings of.
Just from my dealings with them - I'm going to buy a set. No if's and's or but's about it, I'll be buying a set from him. I know that he'd answer any questions or concerns within 24-48 hours and would be an awesome guy to deal with."
This factor alone makes me seriously lean towards buying them.

Personally, I just don't think they are necessary for a street car... $1450 and you aren't even getting a rebound adjustable setup. With shortened Illlumina's(front) and KYB's (rear), you have 5-7 way adjust-ability of dampening only. Of course, any proper FB coilover is beyond scarce, thus why they are charging the price for an obvious custom build.
If you were going racing, then the investment could be worth it, but otherwise, I feel like you would be dropping a lot of cash just to lower the car. With your planned wheels, I don't think you will want to drop it real low anyway, but you know what you want more than I.
Camber plates are merely there to allow camber correction. Much of this is for a highly lowered car, or a race car where different camber settings are experimented to get maximum cornering. As you put a "strut" suspension on its ***, negative camber is unavoidable. The plates allow you to tilt the strut back to a liveable area. The cars you see in "stance land" are lowered beyond the suspension geometries correction. Which is why they look like clown cars. So yes, they can serve as two real purposes; correction and adjust-ability. With FB camber plates, there is a bit of custom work involved. The strut top will need cut out, and the plates welded or bolted in. Personally, welded is the only way to do it.
Ultimately, my thoughts are this. Get a good shock and lowering spring setup. Get your wheels and fitment, then see where you are at. If you need more low, than these will bolt right up.

Anyway, you are right. Unless the fitment isn't low enough for me with the suspension techniques, then these are simply not needed for a street application.

I hear ya. It's really all in the amount you want to pay. If the money is there, than these are obviously your best bet. An adjustable shock with adjustable ride height will allow you to dial things in exactly the way you want. The fact is, you only have to buy them once. It may be worth it to bite the bullet and just do it.

Since I'm from the olden days, I think lowering springs are fine. If you get Em on and don't like the height, give it a few months to settle in. They're always tall when new. If they settle in and ya just want 1/2 inch lower or so, cut 1/2 coil front, 3/4 coil rear, always at the top.

I've bought from Rob before, never had any issues personally. It was actually a pretty pleasant transaction.
Honestly that is probably the most sensible option. It's just that this is basically my "legacy" car. The one Ive wanted to build for several years. So I'm extremely picky on how it performs and portraying it cosmetically in reality how it is in my minds eye. I'd really like it pretty low but still sensible. I may go with my own respeed version for a while then go to the techno toys as a later project. God willing I have plenty of years left to add higher end parts later on.

I suppose its not really mine... Im just taking care of it for the next 12 years and giving it to XLR8 as an Air Force retirement gift haha.

Battery Relocation
Finally got some time from work to get busy!
Enjoy !
I decided to install another small fuse block in the rear for accessories down the road. For instance, to power my nitrous system module, and an amplifier to power my speakers since my stereo will be a 7" Samsung galaxy pad (which I ordered this morning).
Made some polished brackets for it.
Mounted.
Battery strapped down to the tray which is bolted to the body.

Going Turbo !
Dropping the nitrous plan for a turbo build. I still am using the S5 N/A streetport engine and pulling an Aaron Cake.
This will be a Weber blowthrough using a T04E turbo and a Vmount IC setup. Rob at Rotary Shack is already building my carb hat and turbo manifold !
UPDATES
I have gotten quite a bit done since my last update. First and foremost I finished up running the wiring through the interior so I could bolt these beauties in. Absolutely the most comfortable FB seats I have ever sat in.
(Side note: As you can see I have no door panels. Mine were absolutely shot. If anyone has info on fabricating a wicked set or is willing to part with a really nice set for power windows, I would be extremely interested.)
Then I bolted the flywheel and Spec Stage 2 clutch on and tricked my Dad into helping me mate the engine / transmission together and dropping it in. What he thought would be hanging out and drinking beer was in fact a ruse haha.
I was having issues with the drivers side engine mount hitting the corner of my engine but it ended up just being a slight adjustment on the passenger mount. So all is well and looking good.
Today I bolted the intake on with a fresh new gasket as well as the headlight motors, and master cylinder. I also changed all the 10mm mounting bolts I could find with fresh polished ones from the hardware store.
Then I pulled the alternator apart and with a little use of my giant bench wire wheel, dremel, and emery cloth its looking wicked along with the dual pulley.
That is all for today
Enjoy !

Samsung Galaxy Install Parts
Adaptronic 440
4 point harness
Borla TB w/TPS
Rotary Shack Short shifter
My manifold, TB, and plenum are getting polished as we speak, and my 3" exhaust is getting built. XLR8 won an Adaptronic ecu at the Carlisi and gave it to me for my birthday, its cool tho...I gave him an FB haha. ( the white one in the middle )
With this being said I have a whole new list and plan. I will most likely be using a T04E turbo with water injection since my engine is a high compression S5. I did buy a Borla weber style TB and I must say it is wicked !
As soon as my stereo bezel is here I will be posting a DIY of the Samsung Install for an FB. It will also be bluetooth linked to my Adaptronic like XLR8s. But here are the parts minus the galaxy ( because I used it to take the pic lol )
Rotary Shack Short Shifter Installed !
Also bought some 4 point harnesses, and will hopefully be putting in the bar today to mount them to.
And here's to Joshua Williams, Elliot White, and IR Performance for hooking me up with this wicked piece of technology !
