figured i'd post some pics of the new driveshaft and the new trans. first pics is of the newly aquired driveshaft:

new driveshaft installed:

new trans installed as of yeaterday:

car is much smoother with the new trans and driveshaft. i think since i still have some vibration and clunking in the rear its time to rebuild the differential and check and double check the backlash.

i havent been able to locate one locally. and i dont want you to be forced to lug one to ohio..kinda not fair to you.. i think i am going to swap in another diff that i have( two more on the shelf) or rebuild my current one.. something's gotta be done.. i'mon perfectionist but this is getting annoying.. its more the sound than the vibration at this point.
I really don't mind bringing one out there, I drove all the way to the west end of PA for a GSL rear once lol. I'm not sure that guy in CT even has that rear end anymore though, we'd have to check....
I hear you about all the random noises and vibrations, they get really annoying especially when you can't track down what is making the noise lol. Both my cars have this slight clicking in the steering when you move the wheel back and forth but I can't seem to narrow it down to the source, and it only does it sometimes haha, oh well

and one final pic. a proud dad moment! i found my daughter using my keys to pry a plastic heart off of a silly princess crown she has. appeared that she wanted the heart off of the already mangled crown. i was so proud to see my 2 year old using leverage to pry something off. i've never showed her any physics like that..she made me so proud (nevermind the mismatched shoes on the wrong feet, lol, she must get that from her mother, lol!!

ok, back for an update. when replacing the window channel seals, i remove the door panels to help feed the seal down the channel and get it seated. first pic is of the door panel removed:

once teh door panel was off, i noticed the original part number sticker was still on the door panel, as well as a crazy label for repair. i left it on just for the heck of it. part of teh car's life history i guess:

pretty ocean blue:

passenger side plastic had never even been touched!! that can be kinda rare to find that no one has tampered with the plastic:

brand new oem clip for the plastic intake funnel (apparently they dont com in black anymore):
new oem negative cable (positive cable for the SE is no longer available):

Damn you really do like your OEM parts don't you
Looks real good man, and yea that is rare to find a door plastic that hasn't been touched, most usually have some kind of duct tape holding them on lol.

yesterday, i installed new hose clamps on the upper radiator hose. i took the advice of another forum member who suggested that since the engine install was a clean install, that i not mud it up with non oem type clamps. well, i ordered a few, some for my LS and some for the GS. i'm glad i installed them. they really make a world of differnce in appearance. i may replace all of the hose clamps with oem clamps. price is the only factor at this point due to the fact that they are over $3 per clamp.
