83 Limited. Back from the dead

Hey everybody, I just picked up this 1983 LE on Tuesday off of a forum member. From what I can tell its been wrecked at least 3 times so many of the body panels will have to be changed out. Now to most people this would at best be a parts car, but it is a limited so i'm going to save this one.

First thing first I need to get it running before i start doing body and frame work., its reading low compression, but it also seems to be having some carb problems. Doing the ATF treatment hoping its just stuck seals. Carburetor is off for a rebuild.

The quarter panel and door had been repaired and whoever did it did a very poor job, so I will be replacing them. The front end appears as if it has been pushed over about a half inch so I will be putting that up on a frame rack and measuring everything to make sure its straight. It has been repainted twice, and two different colors so its all got to come off.

On to the pictures, and progress will be slow but I will try and update it regularly.

Ok well I moved shortly after the last update, down in dfw now. Been slowly acquiring parts.
I've decided that weather permitting I want to have this thing 100 mechanically done by february.

Picked up a TII front subframe still need one motor mount before I do the swap though. Axles are going to machine shop tomorrow to get drilled for 5x114 so they match the front.

Picked up a set of Jeep Cherokee wheels that look awesome on the car. Going to post pics and updates as I work on the car
