6.5 offset too narrow?

I’m looking to get b-type RS Watanabes for my 84 GSL-SE but I’m not too familiar with specifics of wheels. The ones I want are 6.5x13 +15 but my friend with an ae86 says I will be disappointed by how narrow they’d be. I think they’d look great on the fb but I don’t want to spend $700 to regret. Are 6.5JJ really that narrow?

6.5" is the width of the rim... the SE aluminum wheel is 14" x5.5" to fit a 205/60/R14 tire. This wheel is a +40 offset. Bolt pattern is 4 x 114.3. The wheel you're looking at is a smaller 13" wheel,at 6.5",they're only 1" wider than oe wheel. The +15 offset will put that wheel and whatever tire you plan to put on it,@1.1 inches further outboard toward fender lip and tire/fender contact will be an issue.Why?...

the stock wheel diameter for the gslse is 14". the rotor/caliper setup probably will not allow a 13" to even go on it. what size tire were u looking to run?
