Cool Anyone Have 15x7 wheels on a GSL-SE???

Hey all,

Looking at getting some panasport ultralight competition wheels, and i have to pick an offset, does anyone here have 15x7 wheels on a GSL-SE and if so what is the offset? Does it rub? How much room do you have on either side of the tire/wheel when it is straight and what size tires do you have on it?

Any help would greatly be appreciated!!

Thanks,

M

Most of the SE owners I have seen listing their wheels, generally state offsets of 38-40.
That's about all the assistance I can give, since I have a GS with 15x7 +15 wheels.
Hopefully, a knowledgable SE owner will se able to answer this for you, in the meantime, a free bump for ya.

I had 15X7 Centerlines and they rubbed with an SE rearend until I rolled the fenders. My offset was 12MM,which worked fine with GSL running gear, but the SE stuff sticks out quite a bit more, which is why the stock SE wheels have no lip to them compared to 12A wheels.
30-40MM is typical for the SE,2nd gens and most FWD cars as well. You can get away with a little less than that with the SE,but you might rub a little if you dont roll.......

Heres an old picture showing my former setup.....

Thanks for the info fellas, i went ahead and ordered teh 15x7 panasport ultralights in a 30mm offset. Hoping this will work out ok, I have read of another owner that had a gsl-se with 15x7 panasports and he had enough clearance between the suspension and tire to put a folded piece of sandpaper between, which scared me a little, so i tried to bump it out a little more than his measurement of 33mm.

I ordered them from Mazdatrix, who ships directly from Panasport and can get them in whatever offset you need...although, had I seen that Team Dynamics post before i ordered, i may have gone with those instead. Anyone know if the 30mm offset will cause any problems? I heard that the 33mm offset would only give a tiny bit of room between the supsension and wheel, so i wanted to move it out a little more...

I have been watching wheel threads for some time now and I haven't been able to get a positive answer on wheel offset for our SE. The most info I have gotten was from a forum memeber (sorry can't remember his forum name) that is running Panasports in the 15x7 size and that the backspacing was 4 1/2" inches. Unfortunately no one has been able to verify the offset we need in order to run a 15x7 with out rubbing and having a nice lip on the rim instead of the flat face rim style. I have heard anything from a 15mm up to a 25mm would work but nobody has been able to confirm this by looking at the back of one of their rims and verifying the offset that is stamped on the rims itself. I am currently running 16x7 Rota wheels with a 38mm offset with no problems. I will switch to 15x7 Panasports once I have the correct info.

BTW....
I found Superlite rims which are pretty much identical to Panasports on the following website for good prices...
