beautiful car... I find it funny that I have talked about cutting and boxing my subframe for my 13brew swap cause its what I have and I dont want to replace covers or pans etc and I am told Im being half assed.. yet you modify yours with a huge power difference and not an eye batted.. forums..

Love what you did... dream setup for me... definitely reading over your build many times for ideas...

double thumbs up mate

With a 20b you don't have much of a choice. With a 13b it will fit right in with stock parts.

while I get it.. the 20b is a lot longer..

I get that EVERYONE says you change pan and front cover etc.. IF you run a TII trans..

I have a full FD drivetrain.. I have lined the shifter up almost center of the factory hole.. with single turbo yada yada...

EVEN with a front cover and pan Im pretty sure it will still hit the sub-frame along the front edge of the pan...

I came across this thread with the 13brew and he never changed the cover.. may have the pan.. but he made the whole custom engine cradle... sadly his pictures dont quite show enough.. but it looks like he may have slightly notched the subframe.. https://i.imgur.com/UtAHRw9.jpg maybe not.. do you know if this is a gsl-se pan? rather than the b-rew

https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread...oject-1007636/

anyways.. Im now on the search for some parts to see what its going to cost additional..

I found it interesting how when I did my 13bt swap and FC subframe, the transmission dropped in PERFECTLY to the 83's tunnel and shifter hole. Angles were all perfect, tons of room in the engine bay, etc. There's tons of pictures on my build thread.

What I would suggest is going FC subframe and adapting REW mounts to that (I'm almost positive someone still makes those!). I completely agree with not wanting to switch oil pan, front cover, etc and running the motor as a front mount on a dated reciprocating ball steering setup.

This is why I'm helping my buddy graft a s13 subframe/steering box into his 83 w/ Ford 5.0 swap (not the newer Coyote, DOHC is too tall!). Rear steering location like OEM for us, but a REAL rack.
