What did you do in terms of engine mounts? Did you fab up something original or do a conversion from a FC or FD subframe? I am very interested in what you did since I am planning on doing a GSL-SE to 20B conversion in the near future...

You have to tell us your motor mount solution.

A 12A engine mount? This I gotta see. Most other solutions I've seen have involved using later-generation subframes or entirely custom pieces... So I'm really interested to see any solutions using stock 1st gen mounts...

Yellow '79 09-23-09 05:44 PM

where did you get the motor?

lomber13 09-23-09 08:55 PM

Stock for now. Later will see what we do!

Yellow '79 09-24-09 07:12 AM

what tranny did you use?

takhay 09-24-09 01:20 PM

Did you cut out the center section of the cross member to make clearance for the oil pan then bolt a lower cross piece into the cutout section?

lomber13 09-24-09 08:53 PM

Yes we cut the cross member to make clearance and modify the oil pan.

openshot 09-25-09 02:29 PM

More pic of what are we doing

takhay 09-29-09 11:30 AM

When you said modify the oil pan, i thought you may have just meant with a hammer or something... It looks like you fabbed up a completely custom oil pan from the looks of it. What transmission did you use?
