My 1980 Mazda RX-7 is officially an international project.
Originally built in Japan, purchased new in Canada, 13B Renesis built by Chips Motorsports USA, and now some custom parts from Pulse Performance Race Engineering NZ.
• New upper intake manifold to help reposition the throttle body slightly lower.
• New side mount alternator bracket and hardware to accommodate the unique combination of the 13B Renesis block and GSL-SE front cover.
• New crank angle sensor and miscellaneous hardware.
Have you considered an idler pulley to redirect the belt where you want it? (Could go up and over?) I’m looking at doing something to run ac on a Franklin engineering multirib pulley that’s only meant for main and alternator pulleys.
Qingdao: I am using the stock 100A to 110A, 12V RX8 alternator for now. I can upgrade later if needed.
swbtm: I considered an idler pulley, however Gareth from Pulse Performance recommended relocating the crank angle sensor similar to their 3-rotor engine.
