Wrong section bro. And a search would have sufficed. Pretty much anything in the carb replacement dept isnt "not too expensive" you are better off stripping the nikki and leaving it money wise. If not a mikuni, holly, weber, or del carb are all good replacements if you can find one used with a manifold. A racing beat replacement carb is your best bet if you wana get it running with less headache but still.

DarkD is absolutely right....I went with the stripping off the Nikki for a daily driver and let me tell you, best advice anyone gave me, if you're not planning on going and spending a lot of money in other upgrades then don't bother spending money in other options. There is thread here that shows you how to strip it and whoever made it is a genius, very detailed. Most you need to spend is around $25 for a rebuild kit and another $10 on carb cleaner. My car drives like a champ on a engine that's never been opened up since it was put on that car (1985)

Ive already taken the crab apart and rebuilt it with a new kit, Someone told me that the carbs on then isnt really that good performance wise, thats why i was wondering what would be a better carb on it. But thinking about it, hes retarded.. Because the engineers that put the nikki car on put that carb for a reason, so im off better with keeping it on. I found someone with some skill with the carb and we agreed on a trade, i have a crap crap load of extra parts for it, and he'll do a better rebuild on the carb and tune it. Ill keep you guys posted. I just wanna take it out for a ride :c

Does the carb need to be off of the engine to perform stripping it?

Yes it does. You asked that in your other thread. Does not make sense to bump 7 year old threads with a question that you already asked in your own thread. If you have specific questions like that I recommend searching first and then if you don't find your answer, starting a new thread in the tech section asking those questions.
