I assume you ground the massive amount of filler down on that waste-gate reroute!

Yep I took it back to the shop and the owner was very disappointed , he made the apprentice grind it down, fix it up and apologise

Been a while since this thread saw the light of day....

I got a package id been waiting almost a year for today.

After the Mazdaspeed dry sump front plate really wasn't going to happen financially for me, it would have cost me the same amount as the front plate to set up the rest of the system, sump and braided lines etc.. and the current Xcessive sump is worthless and ******* then factory, I'm looking forward to this thing!

Thanks ! A US drag racer len bacon designed them, https://www.facebook.com/wilmeranic
I've no idea if he'll make more tho, was a mission for him.

Thanks! yep that was one of the worst situations of my life, no doubt an early grey hair or two sprouted. And yep cost me NZD 250 to get a new shaft, there was no way i was passing the buck on that.. lucky my friend Grant Munro who has Rod millens old pikes peak 4WD FC had the hook up. The guy i sold it too is very happy, he put it on his 20B street car. He also helps make parts for the Andy Duffin time attack FD, good bloke.
Funnily enough he told me he wanted to copy it (the dry sump) and reproduce them, so we will see how that goes.

It's low and cast metal, so it shatters when you go off track and hit stuff. Dumps your oil and toasts the motor before you can shut down. Also, the baffling sucks compared to this new jam.

It just plain sucks, i feel like you don't get your moneys worth.

Stay with factory over the Xcessive sump.

The baffling not only sucks , the baffling is actually non existant and worse then factory.

There is not a single baffle to control slosh, its a big over priced alloy ice cream tub .

They give you a deeper pan, but no pick up tube extender so theres no advantage there.

The Xcessive products are poorly cast, i had a straight hole in my Xcessive lower intake manifold (go back thru my build) you could see through it. addind to that i had to get the faces remachining because they weren't flat (also back in my build thread)

Only thing going for it ( i thought ) was the O ring'd seal. Nek minute ...

Quick write up of the Len Bacon sump, i can't recall what company he's selling it under or name.

Sunday was a big day, engine out and back in.

Xcessive sump off, i couldn't find the bolts to my engine stand which was frustrating so had to do this under the engine crane ... ugh dodgy .

Heres the sandwich plate to extend the pick up tube lower into the deeper pan.

O-ring cooped up ready to go in.

Overall was a easy install, all the hardware was perfect. Maybe the the oil pick up tube bolts could be longer by a couple mm's.

I forgot to take a under car shot of the sump (and a comparison of the Xcessive and this side by side sorry), but to me it looks like its not as low as the Xcessive, maybe its because it doesn't have the fins. Ill take a pic. But yeah 10/10.

Also selling my Turqblown TDX61 Single Turbo kit in full (including waste gate plumb in and mid pipe) its done less then 1000kms, PM me.

I think he meant after a retune, lay the EFR dyno graph over the TDX61 for comparison.

True yeah, i thought that might be what he meant. Im not sure it will be too hectic, i still haven't pushed the TDX61 kit to its limit after the engines run in tune.
