Mike
I had black wheels on my previous silver FD. In person it looks good but not in pictures unfortunately.

Well I love the Advans - great choice

What size rubber did you manage to squeeze under there?

I agree. To some extent, black does hide the design of the wheels. I think its a good idea on track wheels because it hides blemishes. However, I do think black wheels can look very good in certain situations.

Contrast is key when it comes to black wheels. I happen to think these black wheels with silver rivets on a white car look very badass.

I do want to get some Bronze/dark Gold wheels for my Vintage Red FD if I ever get some dedicated street tires instead of the streetable DOT-Rs I am stuck racing/driving on.

I go for having the car look good the way it is going to be seen/photo-ed most of the time instead of looking good when it is perfectly detailed.

Satin Black wheels look pretty good even when they are da dirty.

Likewise, Brilliant Black is by far my favorite FD color.
FD looks soooooo good in gloss Black to me, but I will probably never own another Black car (had two) because 90% of the time they look poopy and dirty.

Maybe maybe would do a Black wrap if they had some anti-static, anti-water/soiled material come out at a reasonable price. Basically, if its self cleaning I am down

I personally love the look of those Advans on his car. Never been a fan of six spoke wheels, or TE37s in general...... different folks have different tastes for sure

The next things on the list are the big ones that won't happen until winter at the earliest.

My Supra has been taking up my time recently.

That sucks! Hope you get a chance to drive it soon.

I feel you pain though, mine has moved less than 1,000km since it arrived from Japan two summers ago

I seem to be in the catch 22 of having a good job that allows me to afford a nice car, but takes up so much time I can't enjoy it

Both work and weather play a big part in whether I can enjoy my cars like I would like to.

Just spent the past hour or so going through this. Great thread with some quality parts, not all necessarily my cup of tea but neat to see nonetheless.

Any chance you have garage photos of all three cars together ?
