SC FD Build

Just starting a thread to start tracking my FD Build. I purchased it a couple of weeks ago with the one headlight cover broken and a non functioning factory radio. So that’s where I Decided to start….I purchased a used cwest light kit (in excellent condition) and Installed that first which was pretty easy. Next come’s the stereo system which I am working on now. Here’s what I purchased:

Image Dynamics CTX 65cs (for Rear)
Image Dynamics IDQ65cs (shallow mount for front doors)
600 4 channel watt Pioneer amp
6x8 to 6.5 speaker adapters for rear
Kenwood DNX690HD Headunit
radio wire harness adapter

The battery was relocated behind the passenger seat and the storage bin was removed, so I decided to mount the amplifier in there by building a custom amp rack in the opening. Theres very little room in there and I have a good many hours on the project so far I will post pictures later. Initially I bought the CTX set for the door speakers withought having thoroughly researched the mounting depth issues but they clearly wont fit so I have decided to run rear and front component sets mainly because the CTX speakers are some of the best component speakers I have ever heard.

I will follow up with pictures later.

WOW Eliot you are the man!! that is seriously a work of art. Also Eliot, I gave the shop a call that rebuilt my engine (UPR in Maryland before I bought the car) to see what all they had done to it and they said it got a street port and super seals from Rotary Aviation while it was down. I know when we talked on the phone that I had thought it was stock port so this should up the power they said from the turbo?....I cant wait to install, of course I do have plenty of work to do before then.

Found my oil pan has a pretty serious leak, so I'm going to be removing that after I get the twins off tonight and cleaning it up, reinstalling with high temp silicone.

And can anyone recommend a decent not overly expensive clutch that will handle the power from a tdx61 kit?

Porting usually hurts response, but increases peak hp.
Act street strip works well with this turbo kit.

Havnt gotten a chance to work on the fd for a while with thanksgiving and work and all but last night I was able to finish up my fuel system. It was a pain piecing all of the parts together and trying to find info out there in fact if I hadn't met a guy on the forum that had already done everything im doing himself I would never have found the LIM injector adapters from FFE.

fuel system list:
-OEM primary setup
-no name secondary fuel rail
-bosch 0280158827 1700cc secondary injectors (high impedence)
-ev1 injector connector clips
-FFE LIM adapters
-sx adjustable fuel pressure regulator
-fuel pressure gauge

Made some more progress this weekend on the build. I installed a second left hand side oil cooler on the right hand side location to aid with oil cooling had to make some custom brackets but it was pretty easy. Also got the fmic and N-flow mounted up as well. Does any one know if the greddy fmic tubes will clear the top coolant hose nipple on the top of the radiator. I have one tube that's been cut but I have a second unmodified tube that I would prefer to use but it didn't seam to clear it....

Another update. Just working on some of the finer details this week.
While removing my heater core hardline, I accidently crushed the soft metal nipple coming through the firewall. I have a fix I am going to try later tonight. I also got half of my tdx kit in from Eliot this week. It looks pretty sharp, I put the manifold on the car and was surprised to see how close to the firewall the flange for the turbo sat. I am sure there will be enough room for the turbo but at first it was a little scary.

Awesome looking manifold..

Bent heater core nipple...

Engine bay progress shot...

I did the same thing to my heater core pipe when I was taking off the hose too. I used a smaller diameter socket that fits in it and gave it a couple pounds to make it round again. No problems.

Blown engine

Well this weekend I blew the engine that came in my car which apparently I was lied to about by the shop that did the previous rebuild before I bought my car. Anyhow my car is in good hands now getting a half bridge port and goopy seals. Yaaay I'll post some pics of the port work. I can't wait to hear it.

Its been a couple weeks since an update but I finally have it all together and tuned!!! In short, it's a beast! certainly not something I drive as a daily driver with the Bridgeport and raceplugs but Im more than impressed with the final results. Big thanks to Eliot at turblown and Eccentric performance for the rebuild and porting!

On the way to get rebuilt!

I havnt udated in a while because of work and other bs but my current build has come a long way. What started out as an attempt to go turbo shooting for a moderate reliable 400 hp build has escalated to a 500hp bridgeport monster lol and somehow there's never enough ponies....

I have since my last update fabbed up a bracket for mounting aem smart coils and wired them in myself. I picked up a set of sakebomb plug wires from Heath over there who turns out is a great guy, i will be doing more business with them! Installed a water meth injection kit and redone my intake piping to eliminate some bottle necks. Also i machined down my primary fuel rail to install the oem secondaries into my primary ports for more fuel.
After all was said and done i dynoed 508 hp and 426 ft lbs on 850 primaries and 1860 secondaries.
