Holy cow. The most extensive build threads I have ever seen. I applaud you heavily for that dedication. I don't even know how to start a project like that. I pull my hair with the simple tasks I do to my fd like an Intake or brakes lol

And you're doing it outdoors? Amazing.

What size ITB's are you using? Specs on engine? I would shorten the intake a little and try to hold power out past 9k. Make some good power that way

Money, lots of time off, and friends with the right tools help, if you dont have the tools yourself.

really wish i could do a thread like this myself some day..

Thanks man. I said the same thing when i started this project "where the hell do i even begin" Im by no means any sort of mechanic but if you dont give things ago you will never get anything done nor learn so i bit the bullet and began. I also looked at treads like this and said one day ill have my own one. And now its finnaly happening . Im just learning as i go and getting advise and help from anyone who will share. I get great help from my friends who help out on alot of the bits and bobs that need done. My friend builds steel structures so he was dragged in with his welder to help out. I cut and designed the cage and he welded it in. with ideas robbed from other race cars ive been lucky enough to get a look around i went with what i though works. I know the roll cage probably isnt the most well designed cage but its alot better than a bolt in item and im quite happy with the result and cost. I dont have alot of money or time to spend on it but i do what i can with what i have.

The car at current is in my warehouse but for some time alot of the work was done out side in the shitty Irish climate but as winter set in it had to be moved inside.

As ive said before my knowledge is limited and im not exactly sure what the engine has as i bought it for quite cheap of a guy who didn't really know what he was selling. I took a bit of a risk buying it but i think i have gotten my self a decent deal. But you are right, the power dropping of where it is can be rectified as i have done a little research on this. But for the moment im going to leave as is untill in is in the car and running. Then i will be doing a little Tweaking with intake lengths and header design on a friends dyno. I will find out as much info and let you know and by some of your post you have done extensive work on N/A PP motors. As i said i will take advice and help from anyone. Ireland is a pretty lonely place for rotary engines never mind a PP motor. As far as i know there is only one other PP motor on the island and it never sees the outside of the garage it lives in.

I have a very limited selection of tools so phone calls to friends are plenty. As for money i really am doing this on a small budget. Just doing what i can myself and looking for the right parts at the right price. It aint the quickest way to get the project finished but its getting there.

I also plan to win the lotto so no need for one right

I'll probably have some issues trying to get the car back road legal but I'll give it my best shot.

Few more little bits done and I'm not to far away from throwing some paint onto the shell. Will hopefully have it painted by Wednesday or Thursday all going to plan. Just need t get the seat rails welded in and that's pretty much it. I'll be painting the shell a gun mental grey.

Few random pics to keep the tread alive.

Nice shinny wishbones

The series I will be racing he car is the itcc (www.itcc.ie) in the super touring class. I'll hopefully get to head over to te uk and compete in a few races.

The plan is to eventually drop a n/a 20b into it but with the way funds are I can't see that happening for quite some time.

Got a bit of work done today after work. The front end is now in primer and it's starting to look like its going the right direction. I'm prepping the interior (nightmare of a job) and will tackle it again tomorrow.

awesome, hope everything works out for the swap.

Man, how hard is it to put a car back together from a bare chassis?

Seems like it would be hard to even know where to start

I'll let you know in the next week or so there is very little that has to go back into it being a race car. But I'll see how I get on.

You ask and you will receive.

Got the interior primers tonight. Next up to do is the rear end and the underside of the chassis.

Didn't get a massive amount done over the weekend. The pub was calling so I had to answer

Got the two rear arches, rear end and a few coats on the roof. Have a small bit of filler work to get done on the quarters before I get some paint on them.
