Awesome color! I have plans on trying to find a similar condition roller and restore it. Hopefully there are some old doctors in my area lol

I am chipping away at this slowly. I pulled everything out the night before last and started to put the rear end back in. I have to dig through the zip lock bags in the bins to find the bolts. I wiped the dust off the car and that was about it.

I am ordering a stop tech basic brake kit today, with rotors, lines and pads. I also bought a PFS SMIC with intake and a set of 99 spec twins out of the classifieds this past week.

So this weekend I will be remounting all of the suspension parts and then re-working the steering rack. I bought new tie rod ends and new boots for it.

A few pics for Thursday morning.

Mate i am absolutely loving the build you have going.
And that colour blue is to die for.
I have looked at the HOK website and found the paint but i wanted to know what you ordered. Did you just use it as a base coat and clear over the top or did you add flakes or pearls to make it shine so much?
i cant wait to see your car finished and on the road
Cheers

Sup Josh, I started with HOK primer, then sealed everything with the white HOK sealer. Color was only HOK Shimrin 2 Majik blue pearl, no other additives and then clear of coarse. I considered doing a Kandy coat but never did.

I rebuilt the rack today,. Replaced the boots, mounts, bushings, and tie rods. Re-greased everything else.

Cleaned up and put the headlight assembly back on also. Thought about mounting up the sakebomb lights but think might be best to hold off until I have the bumper back on for good.

Checked to see if the factory fog lamps would got with PFS bumper. Looks like there shouldn't be any problems there.

The car looks stunning, a lot better then the factory faded red, best of luck with the rebuild.

No actually it's up for sale in the classifieds. Going to use a PFS, it's just easier to install and since I'm using twins I figure I'll keep it simple.

I think you found an even better deal than I did! You can try getting in touch with Ray at PFS about this. Unfortunately they no longer keep the bumper in stock. I basically called in a favor since I've known Ray since 2001. He was being really nice & offered to call the local fiberglass manufacture who produced them when they did stock them and had them make just the one for me.

It's a shame that PFS no longer keeps products updated and available like the SMIC, Bumper, Wing, and PFS Purple box, They were successful with sales and they made pretty cool stuff back in the 90's. When Peter Farrell sold the business name over to Ray, PFSupercars basically turned into a speciality shop for engine building, dyno tuning, custom turbo kits builds etc... Which is really what Ray is best at anyway so It seems like a natural transition for him. Sadly they don't do product like they used to though. Maybe one day Ray will get back to producing cool parts for the Fd like they used to but I doubt it. He seems like he has plenty of business on his hands doing the builds, tuning etc.
That being said it can't hurt to try,

The business line there is 301-874-0611
You'll most likely get the voice mail. I'd leave your name, # and an email address. Tell him if he doesn't return your message Dave Clair will come and give him a wedgie.

Actually might be ordering a rotary extreme V mount now...

Got some big ticket items coming up soon with a set of wheels (undecided) rotary extreme V mount and a RE ad9 hood.

***** about to get expensive up in here...

Got the suspension all back on the car and the brakes remounted etc.. Going to be stripping out the interior this week. Having seats reupholstered also.

Are you using the same motor you just pulled out or are you getting it rebuild?

Keeping the engine. I did not compression test it but it was a fresh rebuild when I bought it according to the original owner. It seemed to pull fine when I drove it so I have no reason to tear into the engine. I'm still undecided as to doing full non-seqential again or sticking with the rats nest. I will in either event strip it down to the block and go through all the little odds and ends. Replace the fuel pulsation dampener, check valves, vacuum lines etc.. Get it looking nice and all before dropping it back in.
