Ugh... Going through withdrawal... Pretty sure this build has become my "reality tv" that women love so much.... need my fix.

why was the house built like that? seems like the lot's big enough to build a standard layout house rather than making the house basically a garage attic.

it's great for car loving bachelors but its not the best design in terms of the general home buyer pool

As a psychiatrist, my take on women with men like your type is that you are spending too much time on the car instead of them. But what they don't realize is that if you don't spend time on your inner passion, you'll spend that time chasing skirts. So damn if you don't damn if you do. In other words, women don't understand that unlike them, men cannot create life and therefore men do the next best thing: art and creative works that will live beyond their short span on this planet.

Best way to mend your marriage is to neuter yourself with a vise-grip (both ********* of course) and become one of those metro-sexuals and then you can get along and screw both men and women.

Peace out...

Most Women don't get that working on our cars is therapy for us. Luckily my wife loves cars and will come chill with me in the garage on occasion while I'm all grubby. Good times. Good luck fd3s boost

My wife used to spend mucho garage time with me too. She made sure to let me know that was all we ever did. Of coarse she never remembers the trips to Jamaica, the OBX vacations, the jewelry, etc...

Sadly nothing to update but the car is safe and sound in my new house under the car cover.
I have yet to get the engine and the rest of the parts out of my old garage. In all likely hood this car will be on hold until the spring now. This is my busy season at work and I am slammed with work. So no time for my car. The upside is that now I have no need to hide my purchases...

Ahahahhahaha amazing! I still find myself having to justify why I bought a particular part while deflating the actual cost. Lol

You're such a tease Dave.

Like, the kind of guy that hasn't posted anything in his build thread for months just to say....hey, i'll work on it this weekend.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas.

Sorry about that. Things have settled down now that I'm past Christmas, settled into the new house, new girlfriend etc... I have been itching to get the car wrapped up for the past week or so. I am hoping to get the engine dropped back in over the weekend.

My kids had a pretty good Christmas too so thanks for the kind words.

Hi All,
Well starting my new years resolutin' a lil early. I plan on wrapping this car up in 2015. 2014 was a real life changing year for me. The fd has been sitting under the cover since the day I moved it to my bachelors pad. Last weekend I took off the cover and cleaned off the dust. Then I started to lay things out and take inventory on where exactly I am with this car. With all that was going on in my personal life I forgot where I left off. So this post is really just a starting point for me to re-group and get in the game.

First order of business will be getting the engine harness cleaned up and re-taped. Then i can start putting the long block back together. I started on that this past weekend. I never did get the throttle body and alternator put back together after the power coating. I'm jumping on the harness next.

Exactly like I left her about two months ago. So obviously never got to finishing the paint before I had to move out. So the drivers fender needs to be buffed and paint the burn out bumper. That's the last bit of exterior work to do.

Re-assembled the alternator and the throttle body.

About to jump on the engine harness later today. I would like to get the engine back together and dropped in within the week.

I'll be updating later this week or next weekend. I retaped one of the two engine harnesses that I had. Then I found one for sale in the classifieds with around 28k miles on it. So I ended up buying that as well as the coils and harness.

I'll have lots of parts to sell at some point since I have changed my mind so many times on this stuff and the parts keep piling up.

I have koyo, Greddy FMIC, some Knightsports mirrors, JDM center console, two engine harnesses, some interior plastics etc all just taking up space.

Here is that Koyo,
The previous owner (Jasonn) bent it to fit the greedy front mount. It doesn't leak but the bend is why I would let it go cheap. I'm doing a greedy kit like I said so I won't need it.

I'd go $350 shipped on the mirrors. I'll take $350 shipped for the front mount kit as well.
PM me if you seriously want the stuff.

Just curious - how many quarts of base/top/clear did you use to spray your cars?

You end up
Using more than you think. I probably went through two or three quarts of the base color. Clear wasn't more than two quarts.

You used more base than clear?! That seems backwards. How many coats of clear did you use and what was the mixing ratio?
