Well I just ordered a Spec-B front end from Shine. So the PFS bumper is available for purchase if anyone is interested. This is the 3rd choice of bumper and hopefully the last.

I hear that, these are not ganadors though. These are totally different (Knighstports) and I don't much care for Ganadors either. Regardless each man has his own tastes and I'm not trying to do anything aside from tickle my own fancy. So no offense taken.

I do like the stock mirrors a lot too, but I am looking to try something different. It's okay if you hate them, my wife does too so your in good company. I'm holding off my final judgments on them until I paint them and get them mounted etc... Then I can decide if they look good or not.

Hell, I decided to swap to another bumper so nothing is set in stone....

Thanks for the input!

i am with you on the bumper change though

do you have an ETA of getting this thing on the road?

i just found a big *** leak in my downpipe flex section, so my fd is out of commission this week with the DP off.

ETA, before winter. If I had to guess I'd say on the road around September/October.

My opinion is that the stock mirror are the only exterior part of the FD that I don't like... I think you made a good choice... Same mirrors I bought months ago for my build. Car looks great and as we all know you have to build it to satisfy yourself!!!!

Well I didn't get to the mirrors but I did get most of the paint buffed out. A few issues that I won't bother getting into here until I am done only because this is starting to sound like a broken record.

Some pics of the wet sanded and buffed out paint.

Totally 80's! Lol, yea snap I to a slim Jim!

Nope, I take full credit for the hood. I wet sanded right through the base and clear coat. There was a small dent that I missed previously that was bugging me anyway. So I went ahead and sanded it down to get it right. I primed it last night before calling it a day. I'll have it back in paint this week.

I was hoping to have the engine put back together but the power coating guy told me he needed more time.

Hey nice build so far. I noticed you and I have the same mirrors. There is a mounting point under those gray stickers. I would consider using those. Just my two cents

Yea I know there is a threaded insert there. I'd have to drill through the factory plastics to use it though and I have decided to use OEM mirrors now.

The paint is getting there, I will repaint the drivers fender and the front bumper. I am still undecided on the bumper as far as sticking with PFS or swapping.

So then these little guys came in the mail today. Knightsports mirrors. This was an ebay score from about a month ago. It took that long to get them from Thailand. The parts came as described but they didn't have any way to mount them. So I devised a plan to fiberglass in some studs on the bottom and I will use 20 pound mounting tape on the other side. I should have these in paint by the end of the weekend.

My wife hates them.. ROFL!!!! Tough **** woman!

The powder coating guy is supposed to have my parts done tomorrow so I should be able to start putting the engine back together over the weekend also.

To be continued...
When it comes to door mirrors the better half has better taste. DO NOT attach those crazy ears to your beautiful car

Long overdue post. The car is kicking my ***. I have been bogged down with bullshit, waiting on powder coat and parts in general.
Some self inflicted. I bought a shine spec B bumper. Fun watching the freight truck back up off my dead end street. Sold the PFS bumper here on the forum just the other day. The shine auto box came in handy.

And so then for the first time in 12 years I needed a set of 99 combo lights. Harder to find than I thought. Scored a used set for under $300 shipped.

They fit in bumper pretty good.

Opinions on the difference. The only aftermarket bumper I have ever had was a PFS one. The Shine bumper is a noticeable few pounds lighter than the PFS facia. The PFS bumper being ridged fiberglass is formed perfectly. The nose on the Shine bumper was wavy out of the box and needed some body work.

I dont have the this piece done yet, plan on having it done in a week or two. Waiting on oil coolers and engine parts to come in.

Powder coat parts are in black with pearl flake.
