Are you going to keep every solenoid? Why not go simplified?

Funny you mention that, I tripped on a thread last night and started reading on simplified seq.. I need to pull out my WSM and ID everything though, again. Its been a long time since I had a solenoid rack. Double throttle will probably come out. I don't want to the car to stink like fuel and exhaust though so i will likely keep the emissions on there. I will get a game plan together.

Not to much to update on this. I did get the clear on the fender as planned. Other than that I am just chipping out little odds and ends. I did drop all the manifolds off with the powder coating guy last Friday. I also have things coming in the for the engine. I plan on dropping the engine back into the car in a week or two. Last big ticket items are oil coolers and intercooler.

The DS fender came out pretty well. I won't get around to wet sanding and buffing out all of the paint until I can pull the car out into the sunlight.

Hey Nick,
I took these pics for you. I used 3m outdoor adhesive tape in the middle. The front bolts down with two stock bolts that go into the bottom of the fender edge. The rear use the factory self taping screws that hold on the mud guard things. Thats all you need. No drilling of any holes in the car are necessary.

Add tape like so..

IMG_8560 by iojinxoi

And bolt it up in these holes.

Front first,

Then the rear.

Thats it, sit back and soak in the view.

I'm surprised, maybe because I remember your old car having the most bling'd out engine bay in existence. Are you looking for something more subtle, or trying to avoid the upfront polishing/ maintenance time.

Well first and foremost I really don't have the patience to polish all that stuff again. It's one thing for a 23 year old with tons of free time. Not so easy for me at 38 with all I have going on with the business and kids etc... Secondly, going for a different look this time.

Nothing significant to update. I rolled the car out of the building to repaint the floors. I can see a few issues with the paint that I didn't notice until in the sunlight. Annoying as it is the drivers fender base coat is thin in on spot on the top edge and the same on the front bumper where it meets the fender. I will probably have to repaint both parts again because it looks like a total eye sore to me.

I am considering just doing a feed front bumper if I have to repaint the bumper again. I think that would look better with the wheels and the street diffuser.

Anyway, aside from that it looks pretty good.

Before I read the entire post I was going to ask if the fender was a different color than the bumper Ahha.

It pays to read, but yeah it would probably annoy me too.

Where do you get your feed parts? Is there a local distributor or just rhdjapan it?

Yea the edge of the front bumper is lighter than the fender. I didn't see it until I got it in sunlight.

The side skirts I got used off of Fritz. When I get another front bumper, I'll order it from shine.
I might just hold off on that until winter and move forward with getting the car on the road for now.

I'll fix the fender paint though since it's not really all that much work. A couple more hours and I can do it on the car.

You can see the blue isn't thick enough here on the fender.

Speaking of front bumpers, Anyone know what all is needed for a feed or burnout front with 99 lamps?

1. 99 turn lamps,
2. Harness adaptor, and bulbs?
3. 99 rebar

Anything else?
What about the under tray? Does it match up on these two bumpers from shine?

If its a real feed, they don't use 99 lamps. However, 99 lamps will fit inside the area without any problems. You'll just need the what you listed to make everything work. As for the undertray, you just need some modification to make it work.

Would like to see this car. I'm a painter at Moore Cadillac in Chantilly VA. Can't wait to see it burning up the NOVA streets. Nice build.

Ah, shame you have to re-do the front wing, will be killer when its all sorted, though.

Personally I think a '99 nose would suit your car better than a FEED.

I don't much care for the 99 front. It's the mouth on it that kills it for me. Looks too much like the RX-8 which looks horrible IMHO. I like the turn lamps and the lower lip but the smiley face, uh no.

Well I have been pretty busy with work so I haven't gotten much accomplished. I started block sanding the paint out. I need to go over it again but it started looking better. My better half snapped off a few...

IMG_8923 by iojinxoi
IMG_8924 by iojinxoi

The paint is getting there, I will repaint the drivers fender and the front bumper. I am still undecided on the bumper as far as sticking with PFS or swapping.

So then these little guys came in the mail today. Knightsports mirrors. This was an ebay score from about a month ago. It took that long to get them from Thailand. The parts came as described but they didn't have any way to mount them. So I devised a plan to fiberglass in some studs on the bottom and I will use 20 pound mounting tape on the other side. I should have these in paint by the end of the weekend.

My wife hates them.. ROFL!!!! Tough **** woman!

The powder coating guy is supposed to have my parts done tomorrow so I should be able to start putting the engine back together over the weekend also.

To be continued...
