love the manifold. how did you mock it? put everything in place and tack supports in between the flanges? i know my rx7store manifold is going to bite me in the *** and want to make a new one to be safe.

LOL guys.
We made it on the fly, I looked where I wanted to place the turbo, and made the pipes, and flange fit. There was a ton of test fitting it took a few hours to get it. The next one I make will be much easier.
It is the gps dash, with the 3 axis accelerometer built in.

I am unsure how I will be mounting the dash. I may make something to mount it to the top of the steering column temporarily. Then when I get more time, figure out a better method. I do not see any way other than to cut the cluster to mount it permanently though. But we will see.

I do not think there is much benefit. I may be making a full 4" exhaust after deals gap. This was done so I do not have to make two downpipes. It can not hurt performance.

Did you use a band saw to cut those flanges off of the stock pieces?
I'm not sure on what you plan to make out of the thermostat housing, but if you are doing something similar to what I did (straight into an AN bung), then I suggest buying a 1/2" thick plate of aluminum and just cutting it out of that. It will turn out much nicer than the cast flange you got from the stock piece, and much nicer to weld as well.

Thermostat housing will most likely be similar to what you did. Matt has a lot of experience welding cast aluminum and says it will not be a problem to weld it, you may have something wrong with your settings on the welder causing your trouble.

Progress pics
I got a good amount done this weekend. I would have been able to get more done but I had to spend about 3 hours messing with a stripped turbo manifold stud. I ended up welding a nut to the end inorder to be able to remove it. I had to go to work to get the MIG machine because I cant use TIG. By the time that ordeal was done I was pretty burned out.
I also had interfearance issues with the CJ rail and the excessive LIM. The outlet on the primary rail was touching the support bolt of the secondary rail. There was no way for me to be able to put the hose on and tighten up the LIM without breaking something. I ended up removing the extensions on the primary injectors and shortened the aluminum spacers and the bolts to allow for the increased clearance. Even still I had to grind out some aluminum out of the spacer for adaquate clearance around the fitting. What a PITA.
I also installed new OMP injection nozzles.
This is a shot of the downpipe before it was completed.
I also cut my water pump housing to allow for the installation of my wiggins clamp on the radiator outlet. I think it looks pretty
I installed new outer tie rod ends and removed the stock dust shields in the front suspension.
This evening Matt came over and gave me a hand with removing the rear suspension and the Rear diff.
Thats all I did this weekend. I hope to get the bushings installed and get the rear back in next weekend. I think I figured out what core sizes to buy so I may be ordering them tomorrow or tuesday. I have to get a move on and finish the V-mount.
I hate not being able to drive the car.

Ill definitely come out in the summer, i cant wait to meet all of you guys in person. Rx7club is so much more intimidating than rx8club, im afraid of asking questions. I dont know if its my sheer confusion with dealing with rx7's and the limitless options compared to the rx8 or the stigma of owning a inferior car to the rx7 lol. Helghast has been very helpful out of who ive talked to and i appreciate that, if you read this helghast.
Part of the problem is that i have no idea when it comes to modifying/fixing, ive spent triple the amount of time on rx7club compared to rx8club and reading all i can to avoid confusions and headaches later.
anyway sorry, the work youve done on your car is inspiring to me.....and i love pictures, keep up the good work!
