No one-upping, My problem is that when I buy parts I say to myself " Well it is just a little bit more for the bigger/better" whatever and I end up getting it. Problem is I do that for every part I buy. I guess the larger wastegate will help if I ever reroute back to the downpipe. But I really see no need for them. Although if my manifold design requires less than ideal location for wastegates they should help then.

I have to order the stainless tubing and then I can start to work on that. I already have the T4 divided flange and the header to engine block flange.

Thumbs up Back from the Rolex race at Daytona

I went to the rolex race at daytona last weekend with the rotary addicts crew. I had a lot of fun, and would like to thank G's third gen for letting us stay at his place and to Dan for letting me stay at the beach house as well. I had a lot of fun. Goodfellafd3s gets a thank you for bothering me enough until I agreed to go.

Here are some pics from the race.

In other news.....

I also installed my oil pan. I purchased a new oil pan and oil pan gasket!!! after having trouble with the oil pan leaking using just silicone I decided this time I am not going to listen to anybody and will use the OEM oil pan gasket. Approxmately $45.00 later I had a new gasket I also had purchased a new oil pan AGAIN . I applied permatex aviation form a gasket to both sides of the gaskeet and proceded to install the oil pan. Time will tell if there will be leaks.

Now this is a rare sight... an oil pan gasket.

Nice and clean front cover. I also installed a metal front cover gasket.

I always thought, if changing the front cover when the engine is in the car, the front thrust washer / needle bearing will move out of its place?

^ That is a possibility. The best way to do it while the engine is in the car is to jack the front up as high as you can go and leave the rear on the ground. This helps keep the front stack from sliding forward. After installing the front hub you can check endplay to see if the bearing slid out of place. Basically if the front stack slid forward when you install the front hub there will be no endplay.

Worked on the car some more tonight. I installed the subframe and removed all of the "stuff" above the engine. I will strip the wireharness and remove the unnecessary wires tomorrow. I want to be able to mock up the turbo manifold this weekend

Subfame all clean and degreased.

As it sits right now.

He has a funny way of doing that - I wanted to go to DGRR, but didn't know I was actually going until after a phone call with Rich.

The builds coming along well! It will be completely different than the last time I saw it.

Which lens? The 70-200mm or the 24-105mm

I sure hope so. I have to get the turbo placed so I can mock up the V- mount setup and order the cores.

In other news, I am in the process of converting my engine harness for the single turbo, all that is left is to remove the pins from the ECU connectors and tape up the last foot of wire.

Now, If I can just get my injectors installed I will really be in business.

LOL at Rich.

Thanks Collin, you are not working slow, re inventing the wheel take time. Your car should be awesome when you finish it. I am really interested to see the power curve.

I was able to find Viton o-rings for the injectors so I will install them tonight. I finished converting my engine harness for single turbo use and I plan to start on making the exhaust manifold tonight.

My 1,000th post

and it is a good one.

This weekend I worked hard on making the turbo manifold with tig418. it is a short runner manifold.

I am leaving the dump tubes long until I install the suspension and get a better idea of how far below the subframe I want them to be.

Sorry for the crappy pics. I did not have my good camera with me.

Fitment is about identical to my manifold. Want to make two downpipes?

and nice work by the way.

The turbo just has a gtx35R compressor wheel. It is a custom unit by turblown that has a p-trim turbine a a true t4 hotside.

Thanks, I can make two but with the amount of clearance the manifold would have to be the same in order for it to fit because I am using 4" piping.

Thanks, do I get some kind of kick back for helping you sell so many turbos
