Project D1's Project. . .lulz. . .
If anyone is looking for USDM interior parts, lemme know. . .most of it is in excellent condition. . .black as well. . .
Finally got it pulled out of storage and into the shop, started stripping interior down and prepping for a cage. . .
mocked up the wheels and the kit. . .need to go a little wider or run some spacers. . .

Need to figure out some sort of paint scheme. . .or it's just going two tone black and white. . .

Engine is assembled for the most part. . .did a little porting today on the UIM and prepping for the LIM. . .
Fat street port, RA Super Seals, race bearings. . .

Bought this before I did any research on it, have read mixed reviews about it but I'll try it out. . .Rotary Works 90mm TB. . .hope it performs as well as it looks. . .

Not much point to this throttle body if you keep the secondary butterflies. . .bottleneck much?

Removed the butterflies. . .scratched the outline of where the TB sits on the UIM. . .

Removed the bridge, going to clean it up tomorrow. . .

Xcessive Engineering LIM. . .going to port match this tomorrow as well. . .

Clutch is installed . . .ready to mate up transmission tomorrow. . .

Those rules are in place to prevent people from being robbed by scammers, back in the day it happened all too frequently.... I'm not talking 10 bucks either.
Any pics of your portwork? Also, more details on your race bearings?
thanks

Reason for a new engine is a friend blew his up right before a roadtrip he wanted to do for a while, so I sold him mine. . .
Probably because you didn't read the rules so your thread was deleted.

Ah k, good to know. . .
I'll have some more detailed pics of the ports later on today. . .and I believe the bearings are Mazdaspeed's race bearings, I'll clarify this later as well. . .

Based on the pics they're regular ol' FD bearings. You don't want to run MFR (mazda factory race) bearings on a street car that sees low rpm use, they're meant for full-blown race cars that operate constantly near redline.
The bearings are, rotor bearings 4801-11-111 mazda race bearings. 0.04" deeper oil groove. The mains are factory bearings that have "correct" clearances as 8 different ones are avail. It's a picture. I wouldn't expect you to be able to measure them from a pic, maybe you shouldn't criticize what you don't know.
So from this. . .

To this. . .

At the moment. . .Going to fill some ports, knife edge and clean it up. . .

4 port fuel rail goodness. . .going with 6 1000cc ID injectors. . .

Just make sure your manifold/turbo will fit with this setup. . .this LIM moves the UIM forward a few cm's. . .mine just fits. . .
Twin oil cooler kit. . .very cool. . .thanks SB Garage!

Started on the fuel system, will get the accessories on and hopefully get to the piping and ducting later today. . .

make sure you check your Pressure Plate Wedge Clip before you install the motor to the trans... I fogot to check this and it ended up being bent a little.. so when I went to push the throw out bearing forward it simply pulled out of the pressure plate. Now I have to pull the motor and trans to install a new one. Talk about a pain in the ***...
Kind of funny. . .The R33 GT-R has been my dream car since I played Gran Turismo. . .have always wanted one. . .now that I own one. . .I'm kind of bummed out. . .the FD is still more fun to drive. . .

Not much of an update, been working on the R33 for the most part this summer. . .until. . .
I drove a few friend's FD's. . .both GT35R's. . .made me forget the skyline and start focusing on the Happy Seal again. . .

Just shitty FB pics until I get home and upload the better ones. . .
295/35/18. . .a little tall but will work. . .was borrowing the tire from a shop and have since fitted a 315/30/18. . .fits a little more snug now. . .

Sakebomb Garage Twin Oil cooler kit installed. . .

315/30 Nitto NT01. . .*drools*

Up at work right now for a couple of weeks, figuring out some electrical stuff while I'm up here. . .so hopefully a better update at the end of the month. . .
Oh Battle Cat, good job on getting yours running! That much more inspiration to get mine going haha. . .

That line that connects the coolers needs to be secure! I know you're not going to leave that line hanging like that though haha.
