Love how clean the wiring on this car is. Any particular reason you chose not to go with the isis wiring unit?

So I received my shortened harness back from Chris and finally found a couple hours over the weekend to get something done.
ECU panel mounted! Used M6 rivnuts, rubber sandwich mounts and a nice thumb nut for quicker release. You can also see the location I chose for the new engine harness firewall bulkhead on the top left of the pic. Cooler from turbo side of the bay and nice and close to the engine.
Engine bay side of bulkhead...
Also started tearing down the block some more...will be installing brand new oil pan (thanks Ray@Malloy) with a welded bung for oil temp. I was able to also get my hands on a Garfinkle oil pan brace which has the extra mounting holes I'll try to use....
Banzai top, Garfinkle bottom...
Garfinkle top, Banzai bottom... you can see the extra holes.
Took apart the turbo...will need to weld some bungs on the manifold and get some fresh ceramic re-coating done. Any suggestion on some better coating than the stuff A-spec used?? This stuff burned and flaked right off within 2k miles.

I'm not sure if you mentioned it, but do you plan to run Evans NPG+ coolant? I absolutely love the stuff.
I have a great source for ceramic coating, PM me for details

I haven't found any off the shelf tubular manifolds that hold up I don't think they are thick enough. They all split and crack in no time (less than 5k track miles). I'd suggest saving the money you'd spend on jet hot stuff and have a custom (thick) manifold made (after yours splits/cracks) and use heat shield rather than ceramic coating or just get a the HKS block type manifold but even that one will eventually crack but it's not expensive and I think I got around 8k miles out of that one. Current manifold (aspec) has less than 2500 track miles and I just had a crack welded and it probably won't last more than 2 weekends before it's leaking again. Once it goes again I'll send it back to Sean for something more sturdy.

Evans runs hotter leaving your car with less power not to mention if you spring a leak you and everyone around you could be going in circles. With a proper cooling setup your car should never see more than 190 water temps (water and water wetter) even with a big water and oil cooled turbo.

Carol- Thanks for the recommendation. Actually I was leaning towards Swaintech after doing tons of reading on the net, but after discussing sand blasting and coating costs with them yesterday it sounds like it will make more sense to spend a little more and go with a full inconel heat wrap for manifold, turbine housing and DP. So far I discussed heat wrapping with Elliot at Turblown and will also call up ATP Wrap who is sorta local in Irvine, CA.
Fritz- Thanks for the input on Evan's. As for the A-spec manifold, hasn't cracked yet with 3K track miles but I'll definitely keep my eye on it. It's a pretty beefy manifold and I really can't say anything bad about it except the ceramic coating didn't last too long. Also, if I'm not mistaken, I think Sean offered a lifetime warranty on his manifolds and DP's so good to know. Was your A-Spec manifold the same long runner or a shorter runner?

Slooowly gettin' it done...
Mounted control panel...decided to tuck it up on the passenger side of the firewall at a nice angle for easy access.
I was able to use the existing studs off the firewall and create custom brackets with rivnuts and rubber sandwich mounts for vibration. Was a real pain getting it all to line up, but it came out nice.
Started separating wires to be routed all through out chassis...shout out to ArmenMaxx for helping me manage all the spaghetti.
Some quality heat shrink and nylon braided sleeves to keep it neat...

If you want legit ceramic coating, Swaintech's white lightning has no equal. I'll be using them on my manifolds (v8 swap) because the coating really works. Go check their site out. Good thing is, if you don't like the white/silver look you can just spray them with the high temp VHT paint and it will still very well. They actually recommend it if you want to change the color.

Might want to look into an alternative.

I think the best alternative has got to be the Inconel heat shields that turblown sell. I looked into the Swain-tech stuff but have heard so much about it flaking off I got detered. I'm unsure of what i'm going to do...but either way I'm going to need a heat shield badly.
