exactley what method are you using to prep your manifold before polish? that almost looks like you went over it with a small dremel or something. I thought that most people used various grades of sandpaper.

Good luck with the conversion. We should have a bet to see who's car is done first. Hopefully you'll beat my record of over two years and still not done

What turbo setup are you running?

I have a T-78 currently, but we are looking into some other options, GT42R or something more interesting. If we made that bet I could only hope you would win after what you had to deal with. What is your time frame now?

The end of this month, if I don't keep adding things onto the job. Car should be running by early next week, worst case scenario.

Just added an Aquamist water injection system to the order. They're going to prototype one for the 3 rotor capable of supporting 500+ HP. It's going to include thier new pumping system.

Nice David. I would be interested in the Aquamist system after you test if for me. haha. What HP are you shooting for? Also, which turbo are you using?

Because I don't do this for a living, I do not have the tools the pros use. I use cone shaped bits to get into the creases and tight spots. I use different grit roloc wheels to take off the rough stuff. I then sand by hand to get the metal smoothe and level. After 400 wet, I polish.
With the pro tools, upper manifold would be done in about 25 minutes! From start to finish!

Yeah, I've done so well at being a prototype Two years and counting. I'm shooting for 600 RWHP at about 16 lbs. of boost. Should be reachable. I have a T51R (not an HKS but a custom unit from ASE Engineering in Australia) dual-ball bearing kit with a custom manifold.

Lot's of pics posted in my thread https://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-292/kilo-racing-3-rotor-fd-conversion-325733/ and in my VBgarage. Mods have changed upward as the issues caused by Wolf EMS are fixed. Will post more pics when I get the car back.

Thanks to both of you.

We are looking to make similar numbers. We will be running the electromotive unit, and nitrous express kit.

Its interesting to see the different combinations people choose.

I am sure your car appeals much more to the purists out there then mine though...

I have been looking into people's feelings on the GT42R turbo and so far have gotten mixed reviews. That is one thing making me remain with my T78 for now.

I look forward to taking a ride with you when I make it down there during next years show season.

I guess my thank yous got deleted, but all the engine work is being done by JPR Imports in Jersey. I thought it would be a good resource, not advertising, for people who are interested in getting things done. So PM me if you want to know about anything from body work to engine work since posting that info wasnt allowed...

I hope I run into you sometime as well.

As for you troll, just so you know, I am a JD/MBA student, and I did my undergrad at University of Penn. I have been running my own business since 17, so I guess you were a little off. I usually do not waste time responding to stupid, small time dicks like you, unless they really need to look stupid. Thank you for the grammar correction, but I would not be so arrogant next time. Also, I bought the FD when I was 17 for 11200 with a motor I did not know was blown... I have been doing things to it for almost seven years now.

So if you do not have anything to contribute Trolly troll, stay off the thread. So far your contributions have been a waste of forum readers time and a waste of mine. You are a typical jealous *****, and I hope you get banned for spamming and trolling in this thread. Go find one of the IMPORT KILLER guys in the kills section or the lounge to keep your small brain occupied. I can see by your small post count that you have recently been banned so I will pm some of my moderator friends and make sure it happens again if you keep this up. On the other hand, if you can contribute knowledge feel free, because that is what the forum is for.

KX500FD - drop it or I'm going to get to use a "special" button I have. I see no reason for your comments in this thread, as they do not contribute anything.

Now, back to your regular scheduled program.
