My スーパー耐久 ST-3 FD3S build thread (restore JDM endurance race car )
i think my spiltter will be fine~ we dont have that tide of W2W of race in my class so i can leave plenty of space to protect my splitter
Bought this on Japan yahoo auction for 1/3 of retail price , although look prettt beat up but carbon hatch only weight 1/4 compare to stock one I guess I can't complain
Plus with fresh coat of paint it will look new from distance (゚∀゚)

The first race of this season come to the end
Since I am stick with stock turbo , in order to get faster lap time, I decide to focus this session with aero
Once aerodynamic pioneer say "we found some thing for not thing " what he rephrase is the extra grip from diffuser
But since FD is unibody car is hard to design a proper diffuser ....
So I decide to build a functionional front splitter
The material I use is aluminum honeycomb plate
As u can see my last reply , and place very low to the ground only about 2.5inch to get cleaner air flow

The complete of R1
Qualify sec , with minor machine trouble (scarmble boost none functions)
Behind EVO ,grid at third is a porsche 991 gt3
But even at rolling start my stock turbo power FD3S are no match to EVO and 991
But still a fun race
I might consider upgrade my brake too , with this type of unfair dog fight , I need sharper brake to give more pressure to front car

I guess I get it lucky•••
I get my ride high with aero just right in just few session
At open day
First session I am scrape splitter at turn 2,3,4
Plus a lot of over steer there
Sec session so I adjust my ring wing from 12 degree to 15 degree, it instantly shift down force to rear so the over steer at hight speeds is reduce
Third session I adjust my blad swaybar to a bit soft to reduce lower speed under , during that session I still feel too much bouncing feeling on the rear rebound , cause the car to unsettle at throttle apply
So at last session I firm up my rear rebound of my quantum coilover by one turn , and front compression 3 click
This is all I did change for the weekend , even on new slick this setting work up pretty well too

can you share how you are controlling the oil slushing around at high g corners?
curious how the JDM race team do it, in the US we just run 2 big AN-10 lines from each side of the motor to a vented catch can.

i do see some kind of catch can setup on alot of JDM FD, but it doesn't seem to work for us in the US, maybe i'm missing something.
Plan to really working the stock turbo out over 16psi , when climate is colder at R3/R4 of race
Decide to check overall condion of turbo
To my surprise , after 20hr of track time , turbo show little sign of wear, no sign of oil , min round out on the turbo
I guess what kill turbo is daily driving , that turbo keep spinning even off boost , that wear out the bearing , and the high EGT from the trap door

Knowing is power
Reading the plug today , even with cheap gas station 2 stroke oil the plugs still burn pretty good no funky deposit , even with 11 heat range
I think it read a bit rich is because I use too much A/I
and my stack timing beacon just arrive , finally can combine every thing at one gauge

Specialy I use pump gas ( cant buy race gas here ) and the weather here can easy go over 100f!!
When some team spend most
Of race budget to hire trophy girl ,instead of try to improve them self………😢(look at this pic, u know who spend money on gril instead of car)
This is sad thing to see, but is very common here, I my self never hire one, I rather have my crew to share the moment with me
