Alright guys.. Wanted your advice on what I should do..

I have old school looking McIntosh head and meter module for where radio is or go with more modern... double din carputer (and sell the McIntosh stuff).

Here are pics of what I have (MX406 and MPM4000)

And the carputer I'm looking into..

like the 2nd one better. the red buttons match the FD's red gauges - oem style always looks best imo

Well, I figure since I took so long, I should try to do it right.. We shall see. I think I now have all the parts I need and just need to put things together. I already ripped my interior out and need to install the rollbar and start putting all the interior pieces back in.. I think I got all the stuff to "look" like Spirit R inside.

Sent you a PM!

No biggie if you think my asking is too much! But Mc stuff rarely go on sale used and usually still fetch close to retail.

Phil,

I bought the infill unit through MP3car. There are some issues with it but it looks like it will do what I want it to do. That is, run the PFC datalogit and run a track GPS program.

I hope to get some of it installed over the weekend. I'll post an update.

I'm not a fan of the McStuff either. It was good back in the day, but the new solid state stuff is so much better. Not sure if the car audio has tubes though.

Sounds great! Would love to see how it looks inside of an FD... also would like to know how datalogit works with G4.

Please post some pics if you can.

I'm actually an old school stereo guy.. I still have the PPi art series, Xtant, Soundstream, and McIntosh amp. And to be honest, I don't think the MX406 is awful, its still one of the best sounding headunit with great sound output! And McIntosh still sells them and support them!

^+1 on a writeup of the MP3car unit install. This is going to be my next project. I'm looking for sat radio, navigation, and hookup to the Haltech.

Please post pics and let me know how it works out.

Phil, is the motor only held by those two bolts? Ack. I have the proper adapter plate and always use all three provided bolt holes. That's a lot of weight being placed on that front iron.......don't get me wrong, the motor is some serious eye candy, I just don't want to see an accident happen

Phil

Your buildup is pretty nice.
Are you going to bring one of your cars (or maybe all of them) to Sevenstock?

Rich,

The engine is bolt up with 3 bolts. you just can't see the bottom one. I've used 2 on my other engine and didn't even budge. But I wanted to make sure with this engine

Hey Dom, thats my dream right now... Make it out to Sevenstock.... We shall see! I do have 30+ days of vacation but pending how things go this year.
My goal right now is to put the damn car together before this year is over. Body parts are going to be painted within 1-2 months and I'm going to follow Rich and get Blitz FMIC... but before that I need to make sure the Feed tow hook will work with the FMIC.

I'm a bit of an "SQ" guy so I'd stick with the McIntosh if I was you. Must say I am jealous of some of your oldschool amps though and your parts collection.....
