My OEM+ 94 FD build

Well it all started in when I was like 12, Need for speed Underground and the Fast and the furious where huge influences in any kids life at the time. Vroom Vroom psht NOS danger to manifold. Both my father and step father were extremely into cars my whole life but I had no interest in the american muscle scene or cars really until this time. So I picked up need for speed and got started with a Mazda Miata, (who knew I would take this course later in life) and then finally got an FD. Boom Mazda brand loyalty for life lol.

I've owned a wide variety of cars but I always seem to go back to Mazdas for my toys and Subarus for dailys, Car list from 16 to present time.

1998 Monte Carlo
2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse
1999 Subaru Impreza Sedan
1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs coupe
1990 Mazda Miata White (First project mazda, was later on clubroadster 2012 Calendar)
1990 Mazda Rx7 FC Red
1990 Mazda Miata Red
1986 Mazda Rx7 FC Silver
2002 Subaru Impreza WRX
2004 Dodge Neon SRT4 (Gay, but fast as hell BorgWarner s256 with 430hp to the wheels)
1998 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport
1989 Toyota Mr2 Supercharged
2001 Honda S2000

Maybe I will add photos sometime down the line lol

Any way how I came to own my FD is a really long complex story and I am already rambling on about nonsense LOL. Well the short version is a series of fortunate events lead me to acquire my AP1 S2K for next to nothing, literally paid like $1500 after it was all said and done for a beautiful car worth like 20k. I loved the S and will definitely own another someday. Well as of june unfortunately the s2k is now gone I was rear ended at about 50mph but luckily for me I made out well with the insurance and found an almost perfect Fd!

Ideally I wanted a white r1 or base, mostly because I like the cleaner look of no sunroof, rear whipper and I don't need all that Bose stuff. I also wanted a r1 front lip and rear spoiler.

August 2012
The fd I found was a 1994 montego that had just under 75k on it, from the second owner who had bought it back in 03 with 20k on it. The guy was like 75yrs old and had it just sitting in his garage for the last 3 years. I couldn't believe it an unmolested fd with the only mod being a boost gauge. Also had the stock turbos replaced at 40k with brand new oem parts.
So of course I bought it after haggling him down a few bucks on the already low price compared to all the other fds I was seeing at the time.

Well Blahh blahh blahh nobody cares wheres the damn pics...

First day, hanging out with my Gf little bro and his miata (wonder where he gets his influences... lol)

And then it used to be nice, here comes the mods...
Ordered an Apexi N1 dual thinking like on previous cars this would make a lot of noise, not so much but at least it looks cool.
So boom it gets droped off by fed ex the adrenaline rushing I fly to the door and see...

Then my car started making this awful noise while driving down the road over 45mph, yeah realized the tires where making the noise so i ordered new tires. Killing two birds with one stone I thought why buy tires twice so I got them for some 18s.

255/35 r18 front 265/35 r18 rear per a fitment pic from someones car that I desired.

Need to get the fenders rolled, might go with a little bit bigger tire in the rear.

Then I got some center caps made

i'm really digging your wheel fitment! it looks damn near perfect.

are the tires stretched at all? it doesn't look like you had to roll the fenders to get them flush with the stock lines...either way, I think that looks really good!

I'm thinking i'm gonna have to steal your size and offset combo! lol

Well the caps themselves came with the wheels but had varrstoen logo stickers for them, I found a guy on ebay that made the same 3D dome style stickers for like $20. Just sent him the logo and the colors I wanted and within 3 days they where in my mailbox!

Thanks! The front I wouldn't consider stretched, the rear is stretched way more, I am going to get a wider tire next time around. The front fits perfect under the car and the rear does poke a little my pictures are deceiving. Also I do not have my fenders rolled yet but with this set up they NEED to be rolled. I went around the block and they rubbed on every tiny bump. As I was pulling into my driveway it rubbed while turning and pulled the fender metal out, they will be rolled first thing in the spring.

Honestly I love them, I had kW club sports on my s2k they feel very similar. The megans are way better than the racelands I had on my Miata. They are stiffer than stock but hitting bumps isn't completely unbearable. They feel good in and out of corners. By no means do I drive the car to its potential though mostly just cruise on the back roads.
