My New 92 FD

Ok I just picked this up from a guy that was moving back to the states. Needs some work still and everything is a mess inside the car but I think it's got potential. What do you all think.

It's got potential for sure.

I think I see a hole in your exhaust, though. Get rid of that rusty thing.
Is your ecu harness hacked up? Why running two ecu's?
That charge pipe between the intercooler and the throttle elbow is unacceptable.

yeah the exhaust is going it's way to loud for my taste, The ECU Harness is in good shape the only reason theirs two ECU's is due to the last guys installing methods...lol He just never mounted the PowerFC he just plugged it in and laid it on the floor as you can see. Why is that charge pipe unacceptable? Too Small?

Welcome.

The charge pipe is too small for that coupler and doesn't match in size to the rest of the system.

Looks like you have some work to do but still a good setup.

Just looks like it has black trim rings instead of chrome. I think it looks pretty cool.

For info, it's a Type S (base model), built on 16-9-1992.

Have fun, looks like you've got a bit of work ahead of you

The gauge cluster is original from what we can see here, standard JDM cluster. Good luck with her

Negative.

That is a 94+ cluster.

92-93 have 1/4 markings on the rev counter, not just 1/2 markings.

This was changed in 94.

Free?! Lucky you! Have fun with it. Also, anyone know what the "E-" prefix is for in the model number? (Efini?)

US market yes......Just because US Market FD are easy to identify doesnt mean the rest of the world was as easy.

For whats it worth, i'd lean heavily on the opinions from the guy from OZ and Ceylon regarding FACTUAL INFORMATION about Euro Spec FD's. Just Sayin'

This Type S isnt too far away from my car. Mine was built in (from memory) 19th September 1992. Mine is a JDM Type S as well, and I bet your chassis numbers are close to mine. Except mine is an auto and black...

Those gauge rings are not standard for a 1992 Type S JDM car. That cluster may be out of a 94+ JDM RZ car. Because I took the same cluster out of a 94 RZ JDM myself

Well i did some calling and research and apparently there is no way to get my car back to the states bc the RHD. but good news is i've got it running and got all the oil leaks & coolant leaks fixed now I'm in the middle of installing the Tru boost & AFR then it should be ready to hit the road.
