Plan is to just get the body parts I need to turn it back to stock. Put a lip on the bumper, convert from auto to manual, and then get either a 13B-RE or stock 13B-REW swap and get her running decent and use it as a daily.

I'll have my winter beater G35 and my spring, summer, fall, track FDs

Thanks!!!

Not a lot going on lately. Just waiting to get my oil pan welded up and have my dad finish making my bushings for the motor mounts. He's been busy at his job and I've been busy with law school.

For those I messaged before regarding the rear seat brackets....they are still getting made I have not forgotten! .

Just taking super long with that not high on priority list.

Anyways, since both of my FDs are 93s I think it is ok if I put a small update on my other FD since the silver FD is just relaxing until the pan is done.

This was by far the worst wiring job I had to deal with...it was NOT from the PO Justin.

Removed two of these things. I don't even know what they are.

Removed the rear bins (they are for sale if anyone is interested)

and installed another rear seat conversion

And more wall art

So I lied...I do have an update for the 20B build....

Should be a beast when it starts

Thanks for "watching" and giving input. It is always nice to hear what others think.

Man that wiring is scary looking...makes me want to be even more **** about doing mine so I don't have anything that terrible under the dash. Next year if I rip the dash out I'll properly terminate the whole harness and there will only be running equipment left in the car. Looking good so far though!

^THANKs!!!

So not much going on. Got my new DSLR camera. Will post some pics up sometime this weekend.

The goal is to get the 2-rotor fd running by next month then head back to wiring on the 3-rotor fd.

Thanks school for allowing me minimal time with my garage queens. Lol

Nice seeing you to Austin.

As far as my builds....well...I will update after finals (may 13, 2015). I have not been as active on this site as I usually am, but only thing I'm waiting on is some bushings to put my 20b in the fd bay.

The trans I might be going with from a g35/350z or g37/370z (6spd).

The adaptor plate is still in the process of being fabricated, but I'll find out soon enough if it'll be capable of holding the 20b power :-D (muhahahaha).

On another note, I'm very disappointed. In the Mayweather v. Pacquiao fight. Should have saved the $90 and went to bed early.

I am alive!!!

Hello!!!!

SO LIKE OMG WTF WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

I have now finished my spring semester of law school. Lets hope I passed all of my finals.

Anywho....Made some dramatic decisions in these past couple of months.

First, I decided to sell my MB fd to finish my 20b build...and well fund my G35 2jz swap

....

I know right...

So I sold my rear seat conversion from my MB FD because I was indecisive on what I wanted.

Here is a funny shot of some rivals in my garage (before I blasted and did the valve covers)

I also decided to be cool and plastidip my G35

SO AFTER ALL THAT JDMness I decided I wanted to once again keep the MB FD and sell my 2jz AND my G35. I would much rather keep two FDs than have one FD and a 2jzgte g35.

Those of us with 20B FDs look down upon Supras (from cars and coffee earlier this month)

Update part 2

Well after all of that madness I finally got working on my Fds.

First and foremost I have to thank my daughter for showing me support and keeping me sane

What to come of me next?

It all started by getting some oem FD rims to put my SSM FD back on the ground (pics of the rims shown above). Surprisingly they were reinforced and were in pretty good condition minus that paint.

After around 1 year of sitting on jack stands and then on car dollies then on jack stands again she finally got to be pushed out of her cave and breath some fresh air (thanks dad for coming to help me push her out):

Then after I got a chance to clean up the garage I pushed her back in ( ) and began work with my helper again.

We started to remove more stuff from the inside of the SSM FD to prepare for wiring, but we had to go for a ride first.

Update part 3

However, before we got pulled over I decided it would be best for my helper to sit in the back and not drive(of course she had to change for this ahhaha).

Before the passenger seat was back:

AND AFTER

OK so not much was done to the SSM Fd for the 20b prep. I want to get an FD running SOON so the quickest way to do so is to work on the MB FD for the time being.

Just swapped out the JDM thermostat housing for the US version as I am going to run the mini cap from the S4 to delete my AST (pic shown before the change)

AND NOW HOW THEY SIT:

The MB FD just needs an engine harness now and I THINK I will be able to start her up...or at least try to . So if anyone has a spare harness for the low-low please let me know. If I was able to sell more of my parts I would go right to the Adaptronic 440 and wire my harness, but the way sales have been it isn't looking like it will be anytime soon.

What are my goals for the MB FD?
I feel like throwing a Shine Auto wide body on it, some 17x10 RPF1s and dedicating that car for a "breast cancer awareness car." I think it would be cool to do something for those of us who know or have breast cancer. BE AWARE!

Plus it would give me an excuse to rock some pink rims, a pink engine bay, and well...pink.
But first things first is to get her running and get me driving.

What are my goals for the SSM FD (aka the 20B FD)?
My dad is finishing up with the mount bushings. He would have finished months ago, but some family issues came up and we have all been drained . So family comes first before my 2nd family (aka my garage family).

With that being said, I plan on just picking up a CXracing turbo manifold and having a buddy fabricate the manifold (if needed) to properly fit in my bay. I also will be ordering the 20B short LIM from xcessive, but I will wait to order until I can sell my OEM 20b LIM. I still have not figured out what EWP to run or figure out how I will run my v-mount.

As far as transmission setup goes, I will be working with a shop that is engineering an adapter plate so that us 20B guys/gals will be able to utilize the G35/G37(350z/370z) transmission. Not only are those transmissions far less expensive than most any trans on the market (t56, whatever else haha), but they can hold much more WHP. I think the CD009 has been rated for 1200hp before. SUPER CRAZY. To top it off if you wanted to buy it NEW the trans would run UNDER $2000!

Well used I can get one for like $300 right now (local guy has 6 ).

But now that I no longer have classes and will be only working at the PDs office for the summer I should be able to get moving on these builds. Who knows if everything falls into place I could have both FDs running by this year.

Thanks for reading and looking at my thread! Comments are always welcomed.

Well as another week comes to an end I found myself feeling hopeful one of my FDs will be running shortly.

So what have I been doing?

Well as some may have read my SSM FD (aka 20B FD) has been refitted with a REW motor and NOT the 20B. Now I did this so I could drive an FD this year.

As I continue trying to strip apart my MB FD and sell parts from it (gosh nobody must need parts I have) I have been doing my best to get everything I need to get the SSM FD running.

BAM! HKS V-MOUNT

BAM! GREDDY T78 33D SINGLE TURBO KIT

Back to the 20B build.

So I was able to test fit the FD sub-frame on the modified 20b oil pan to verify for clearance.

AND BACK TO NOT 20B stuff

DON'T MIND THE MESS!!!! PREPARING THE BODY TO TAKE TO THE BODY SHOP. WIDE-BODY FD IN THE MIX!!!!

TO BE CONTINUED HAHAHAHA

Stay tuned I am hoping to pick up another 4 smart coils and my Adaptronic 440 ECU shortly!!! Like tomorrow if SOMEBODY lets me know! lol

Good stuff here. The second to last pic made me bust up laughing, seems like your girl likes being in the garage more than your boy, enjoy it while it lasts!

So all you need to get going is the 440? Do you need engine harness connectors? I have a whole harness worth of connectors I can donate to the cause if you need them.

Just carry an extra rotor in your glove box so your license plate won't be completely inaccurate! :p

Hahaha yeah. My daughter loves the fds.

As far as the license plate...I know I should right? Hahah. My MB fd will be fitted with this setup as soon as I get it to the body shop to get fixed. Just need to continue to strip the car apart lol.

Widebody kit is going to run about $1800. I won't buy it until I can sell a bunch of the interior parts though.

Yes all I need to do is pick my ecu up. I may end up getting new clips.

I will need:
Two crank sensor clips,
Injector sensors clips,
Oil sensor clip,
May run just and aftermarket temp sensors,
Bunch of other clips.

The clips run usually around $5 each from Ludwig. Hopefully he'll have what I need.

My goal is to just have a clean setup on the MB when she's back from body. So if I can get my Ssm fd running good with the current setup it should be just a drop and drive system in the MB fd. "Quick" turnaround.

I also picked up some RE Amemiya 18s from a member on here. Should be cool I think haha.

Nothing special.

Oh my fridge went out in the house too so I spent $2k on a new one -_-. So crazy how much appliances run!

Crazy no pic update

Hello again all those that actually are still subscribed to my thread.

A lot has happened since I last posted. Unfortunately at this time there are no pics uploaded however.

First, I sold one of my 93 Rx7s.

I did so for three reasons:
1) freed up space in my garage,
2) freed up finances for my bank, and
3) helped me get become closer to finishing my 20B build (b/c number 2 ahha).

ON SOME SUPER COOL NEWS: I will be the first person in the Midwest, if not the entire world (maybe), to receive a 350z/370z/g35/g37 transmission to 20B adapter plate kit. I will be receiving it around Thanksgiving time.

When I receive it I will be doing an "box-opening" review on YouTube and write-up on how to modify the trans to use the adapter plate. SOOOOO THIS WINTER WILL BE VERY FUN.

Anyways, I received my Leash Electronics board later last week and I will hopefully be able to get my other FD that I took to the body shop back by the end of this month. Because I want to get my 20b running by next spring possibly the end of this year, I will not be going with a wide body.

Wheel setup:
For now I will be running just my 18x9 re amemiya 3pc rims until I get the right setup (width and offset) I want without cutting the body I will stick with the skinny rims .

Bracing:
Thanks to Damian, I was able to pick up a diff brace that allows me to remove that ugly, heavy PPF. This is going to be awesome because now I only need to worry about bracing the Nissan trans to the frame. Bracing the trans. will not be that difficult.

When I get my FD back from the shop I will order the last part I need to complete the wiring (at least what I think to be the last piece for my wiring ahhaha). This part would be the Dash2 PRO.

Then I will be able to wire in all of my relays and everything pretty much using my leash relay/strip board, my adaptronic 1280 ECU, and my Dash2 Pro.

I am not a wire guy, but I will do my research and hopefully some of my friends will find the time to mosey on over to my house and assist with the wiring...beer will be supplied if it takes that .

My garage will be ready for winter, or at least I think it will be. I just put up 6x 4' 2 bulb t5 high-output lights. The plan is to order the daylight bulbs. This should give me adequate lighting .

I also have to make sure I get new seals for around the garage door. Other than that, my heater, along with my lighting, should make my winter more cozy.

Later this week I will be picking up a 1982 Toyota Corolla. 2 owner, 15k original miles. If it is as clean as the older gentlemen says it is I will likely hold on to it just for collector value. However, I may get that itch to post it up and help fund some crazier path I have in mind for the 20B.

LONG STORY SHORT---> Prepare for a fun and a lot more engaging winter!

MY LAST SEMESTER OF LAW SCHOOL IS NEXT SPRING YAY!!!!

Question on this, why would this be beneficial? The 35Z/G35 6spd trans is known to be just as bad as our FD transmissions. I went through 3 on my Turbonetics G35 in about a year and a half... and first went while it was still NA. Seems like a waste of time and money if they already make conversions for the T56 that is proven to take the power.

What series transmission did you have? The CD009 is known and documented to hold over 1200whp. The pre cd009 (up to 2005 I believe) have poor syncros.

How much are t56? A Nissan trans are slightly used for under $900. I picked up 2 cd009 for 350 each.

Shifting? I am not a fan of the t56 shift feeling. Feels like a truck to me. The Nissan trans are like butter compared to that t56.

Time, convenience, and power. Pre cd009 trans are known for crazy failure. I never had issues with a cd006 from my 04 g35, but it's true a lot of people do.

I look at it this way, if the Nissan trans can handle a 2jzgte, it should be able to handle my 20b.

I completely forgot that there were two different transmissions from the G35. I had the pre 2005 trans in my 04 G35s. I kept blowing through syncros like crazy then upgraded to the 2006 trans. My bad.

I would be interested in knowing how this works out for you, as you said, you can get a 6spd G35 trans for much cheaper than a T56. It feels like your shifting a pickup truck with those!

Hahah right! I will update and put a entire review thread on this setup for sure. The process of making it work is like mixing parts together lol.

Using sr20 clutch discs, t2 pressure plate, lightened flywheel, all that fun stuff.

I'll put a list up of everything else needed for this swap too.

I know I asked this a long time ago, but I forgot. Where did you get the adapter plate?
