Where did you get your CF dash / console parts? And also how do you like the quality of it? I'm in the process of replacing my entire dash / console and would love to do so with carbon fiber.

It's actually a CF overlay. There are some good threads in the interior section that will probably help steer you in the right direction for full CF pieces.

Overlay or film? I've seen the film and it doesn't look like real CF at all.

I've been searching around the forum for the full CF pieces but the only thing I found was that one group buy thread where everyone got shammed.

Also, were you looking for a auto exe strut bar? I have an extra one lying around if you're interested.

I am! pm me!

For the dash kit it's a overlay that was available years ago. I bought it and installed it on my first FD, then transferred it over for this build. It's an actual CF overlay with wet finish that adhears to the stock parts. Once on it is virtually impossible to remove.

You have probably already found these, but if not:

I absolutely love what you did with your car!!!!
I plan on doing to veilside body kit too, in the near future.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did the body work, paint and assmebly of just the body kit for the car cost?

I'm actually in the process of building a veilside as well and here were my costs

1. Veilside Body kit - Retail 12,500. (I got mine for around 7.5)

2. Average installation costs quotes from shops around California were about 10k (this includes paint). I'm saving about 5-7k because I have hook ups with body shops and I've agreed to help out with some of the labor.

3. Don't forget you're probably going to have to change your rims and wheel set up as well.. or it might not look right. And I was told I might have to run an air suspension too due to the body kit being so ridiculously low to the ground.

Turn around time for the body work, paint and assembly is roughly 2-4 months... depending on the size of the shop and what not.

Hey fortune,

I forgot to ask you but are you running an air suspension system? It's been suggested to me that I run one if I wanted the car to be at all practical once the kit is on.

I'm not running air suspension, but I could see why this would be beneficial. I opted instead for the APEXi N1 adjustable coil-over system. Haven't had any issues. Car is low but as long as I'm careful it has been adequate. When needed I can change the height manually.

My thought process on this was that I didn't want to make space for compressors etc. and have the extra weight involved. Also why I've excluded sub box etc. from the build. I plan to weigh the car, though the kit did add some weight with the loss of the rear window I don't think it has been anything crazy.

The wheels have been the biggest factory in the feel of the car. And to your comment above are absolutely necessary. Without custom wheels the wells would look very spacious .

I've also geeked out on chassis bracing as flex won't do the bodywork any favors.

Just wondering but what kind of wheel tire combo do you have?

Also, did you end up having to use a spacer in the rear? The reason why I'm asking is because I ended up getting a 10.5in wide rim in the back and I'm not sure if I would need spacers once the veilside kit is on.

All the specs are listed earlier in the thread . For the rear I went with a 13" wheel. I could have gone an extra .5" easily. You might need spacers. I have been using a 315 tire but am going wider. Hope that helps!

BC And we now have installed R3 Recaro Seats!

Due too a lot of travel and a few music festivals, my time at home and with the 7 has been few and far between.

With Summer winding down I am very glad to report that the Recaro seats are finallly in, are fully adjustable, and make me very happy!

The red stitching seems to perfectly complement the Redline Racing items already installed as well as the door skins, pretty stoked on how it has all turned out.

Also installed some new ebrake cables, though my handle is bad and will be next.

Here are some pics from my Iphone, better to follow:

Powdercoat

Just dropped off a few parts to Powdercoat, should have them back by the weekend, going with a flat black on the front strut bar, rear strut bar, B-pillar bar, and the psg side foot rest.
