They are 17x9 et28 all around
The car is running pretty good now. I'm still on base map and I need to get my midpipe and catback installed, then I can get it tuned.

This is a nice start into a RX7. You've done well with the car. Enjoy! I'll be reading along. The car looks great. That's an r1 wing though not the Whale tale which was on 96 FDs IIRC

It's been a while since I've updated so I figured I'd at least post some recent pics. I wish I had more time to tackle some of the bigger upgrades I've planned :/.

I was planning to take the car to SoWo (a biggish event here in GA), so I had to finally register the car and do emissions.. That proved to be a bigger deal than I imagined- only because it was nearly impossible to find a place that did pre 96 emissions..Most of the time their equipment was "down" or they were just too damn lazy to want to do it..

Temporarily on Evo wheels while prepping my BBS's:

I actually didn't think they looked bad at all on there :P

Finally found an emissions place:

I think she did pretty well!

Painted the BBS Grimmspeed Gold. I was surprised at how well they turned out. I just took my time and did a ton of light coats:

On the car:

Parked at work in a sea of minivans haha:

New rotary shirt:

..And more recently. Added a NRG quick release / suede steering wheel. I think it matches the spirit-r shift boot/**** pretty well. I'm planning to make a Mazda/Efini center cap for the wheel:

Added Red BBS center caps:

Overall I'm happy with where I'm heading, but I still have a lot of work to do.
I have a Blitz FMIC/Fluidyne Rad waiting to go on, as well as a PFC. I still have some idle issues I'd like to get ironed out before I move onto those upgrades. I believe my IAC valve is sticking, which is causing a high idle when things get hot. I'm hoping that just swapping in my friend Skeese/Seth's working IAC valve will make things run much better.

I'm very lucky to have a friend leading the way for me, not only do I get some hard to find twin turbo goodies, but also some great advice & help. Thanks again Seth for all your help so far!

Box of goodies waiting to go on the car, also, the most expensive packaging job you'll ever see! lol

Looking good. Playing cards are a nice trick for masking the wheels.

Car look sharp with those gold BBS, is that hood hold down by the latch and pins or just pins?

Looks great! Looking forward to you documenting the blitz IC install, I'll be on the lookout for one of those kits in the coming months (I know they're hard to come by). Where'd you get yours, out of curiosity?

Yeah they are def hard to come by! I lucked out, my friend Skeese on here replaced his Blitz FMIC w/ a Defined V-mount, and offered me first dibs on his Blitz kit. I'm hoping the install goes smoothly

Glad to see an update! I hope that valve gets your idle sorted out, but if it doesn't let me know. I've got a few other ideas as to what might sort it out. It is definitely a smart move to get idle sorted before pushing for changes as a car that doesn't idle right is going to be a huge PAIN regardless of how it pulls under load.

That blitz FMIC and Fluidyne radiator setup severed me well during it's time on my car. The only reason I went V-mount was due to moving to TX where it is HOT and there is a TON of unavoidable traffic. Looking forward to seeing how it looks through that spiffy bumper you have on your car!

When I first got into it I had ALOT of help from a friend who went out of his way to keep me moving forward so I'm just payin' it forward! Plus...I love this stuff...

That is true! I found out the hard way that no matter the size of a package you should never ever ever ever let Fedex package the stuff for you. It will be well padded get there safely, at the expense of your left arm and firstborn child.

This man needs a motivational get-the-ball-rollin' bump!

I heard it through the grapevine that this man has some fancy new parts to install...the kind that make for massive power increases and complete rotary raw badassness to the 900,000,000,051st degree. hmmmmmmmm.....

Damn, got called out! lol. It's true, started to piece together my single build but I could definitely use a firm kick in the azz to get jump started

Most recent pics before the start of the teardown:

Although I like the BBS setup, I am on the hunt for something more aggressive, probably Meisters or some TE37s .

Last TT engine bay shot:
My first venture into Japanese cars..OEM+ 93 RX7 restoration/cleanup thread-ecikfxul.jpg

Picked up a nice clean turbo setup from my friend Sean- Precision 6266, ceramic coated mani & DP, Tial WG, and some other random odds & ends
My first venture into Japanese cars..OEM+ 93 RX7 restoration/cleanup thread-pdxnqqkl.jpg

Also picked up a street diffuser & undertray from Shine, a replacement molded carpet for the interior, as well as some new tail lights.

Still need to pick up a fueling setup, clutch, & most likely an Adaptronic ecu to replace my PFC. After the swap I'm hoping to also get the car repainted and on some new wheels for the spring/summer

More updates to come soon hopefully
