Well I had. I intentions of wrapping my car, but when my buddy (who owns a wrap company) calls me and offers me a deal I couldn’t say no to, what else are you suppose to do!?

The car has been needing a paint job desperately since I got it and I’ve really wanted to paint it Mazda soul red or their new artisan red but after a couple quotes of 15-20k for a full paint job minutes engine bay, I put that on the back burner.

and with all the new body parts coming in soon it was a no brainer to go wrap at the price he quoted. Car will be staying red for the wrap job which will really help it all blend and look better in my opinion.

This is a photo of lotus wrapped in the same color I’m doing. I’ll update with FD photos once we get the car complete and the new bumper comes In.

Next up is finishing a nice street rear diffuser and then calling it done for a while.

😂😂 it is much needed! Coolant res has a cracked and broken neck like so many others. I was really looking for a nice aluminum one but no one makes one for the FD but that’s something I’ll look more into once I swap over to the new intercooler

also I’ve treated myself to so much this Christmas. My wife might get mad if I spend anymore money on the car 😂

Fukuoh bumper has landed and should be here this week! Rear diffuser got delivered today, largas pillar bar arrived, 99 spec turns for the new bumper arrived, custom made floor mats and arch support pillows to will be here next month.

this is the last teaser photo before everything gets assembled and photos taken!

hopefully picking up a twin tube down pipe soon to finish my exhaust system and then I need to get the intake off replace and simplify vacuum lines and replace my fuel lines.

Couldn’t decide on what style light to go with so went ahead and had him do the HWL and the RE Amemiya so I could pick and choose

I know a bunch of not really update updates, but cars been at my buddies shop for two months now while we waited on the Fukuoh bumper, which is scheduled for delivery Monday!!! I’m super excited to get the car back and see the new color and fresh look In person! A few parts piled up while the car was away. Still waiting on a custom set of floor mats from Japan that should be done next week.

Finally the last piece to my exhaust! Knight sport twin tube!! I am too excited to have this. Will pair great with my greddy circuit sport mid pipe and my RE dolphin tail. Can not wait to get the car back and get this on.

Picked up a rep re street diffuser. Not typically one for buying rep parts but at the price and no six month wait I couldn’t pass it up.

I know not everyone’s cup of tea but I swapped to all wclear bumper lights and fender turns so it only made since to go with the chrome 99 spec. Plus they look great on red cars. iMO

^Agreed, I'm digging the look of the bumper as well. Looks like lots of airflow what would be beneficial for my 20B car. Hmmmmm

Bumper isn’t fully bolted on, not 100% sure how I feel about the HWL headlights, but I kept and color matched the RE lights. So I can always swap back if I want.

I still need to get the RE street diffuser on, but she’s finally all one color and the proshop fukuoh bumper is on! Also got my floor mats in from Japan to finish up the black and red swap with the interior.

heavily considering getting the RE led tail lights, and a autoexe rear tower bar, but first I need to get my air pump deleted, rats nest cleaned up, new intake set up, new intercooler, and get my knightsport twin tube and greddy mid pipe on.

and for the haters the chrome indicators on dark red metallic car looks so damn good.

Had the bumper off today for final fitment and adjustments want to take some photos to show how nice the bumper really is. Fitment is incredible right out of the box, and the cutouts on the bumper are actually ducted very nicely. Spent some time getting the RE lights fitted so I can swap back and forth as I please.

added a largus rear pillar bar and started the rear diffuser install. Getting that old rear skirt off is a pain and I really don’t want to pull the rear bumper.

after the diffuser exhaust goes on then retune and then to the shop for some maintenance and tidying up the engine bay.

The wrap turned out great! I like the RE-A lights over the HWL.

same. I regret not grabbing R-magic ones. The HWL aren’t bad. Fitment is ok, but now that they’re on the car they just kinda look like weird headlight vents.

I have a professional photo shoot coming up this weekend so I’ve really been pushing to get the car 100% atleast for interior and exterior and finally in the home stretch.

Diffuser is finally installed and rear spats are trimmed to fit

Bridgemoto harness test fit since they’ve been sitting in a box for the last 6 months.

Pillar bar is at about a 20 degree up swing from the sets cutout, so unfortunately not going to work as a temporary harness bar like I had planned.

With the exterior and interior being mostly complete now, one of my photographer friends came down and did a shoot with the car and my son. He had a blast and wanted to be in every photo. Up next is to get the exhaust finished up and air pump delete.

Took off the oem gas pedal cover and order a new gas pedal and foot rest for SRP Racing in their “FD spec” they are very similar to oem and this was their first RHD set for a FD. He took the time to send templates to make sure everything would fit correctly.

Not a Whole lot going on as of lately!

i ended up purchasing a Sanai works rear tower / harness bar to get my harness sitting at the correct angle and off the largas pillar bar but when it arrived I wasn’t happy with it. It’s made of aluminum with hollow end caps and the overa design just isn’t very sturdy.

so, I decided to design and produce my own.
I made it out of 1.5x.083 chromoly pipe
3/8 chromoly heim joints with a static load rating at 4500lbs each.
7/8 stainless shanked threaded inserts for the eyelets

and I couldn’t find 1.5” chromoly slip joints that went down to a 3/8 thread so I decided to just buy some 1.5” chromoly solid bar and machine my own slip joints t end caps. They have a 1” shank to give the piping some internal structure support and good support for the welds.

still need to weld it all together but here are a few pictures of the assembled product.

after it’s welded I’ll knock off the coating and give it a full polish.

and then the plan is to cnc some hooks for the privacy cover out of stainless

Had some solid bar left over since I changed the original design I had planned. So I might make me a nice chromoly shift ****
