I also got my oem center arm rest installed. This thing is 20x better than the little tray!

PS: ignore the ugly gauge pod. It’s only a temp until my boarders style pod comes in.

also need to order a gauge pod for my GFB boost gauge / controller.

unfortunately I had one of the rear eccentrics get damaged. So, looks like I’ll be needing to order a new one from Mazda since I can’t find a lockout kit.

cleaned up some bracing and splash shields and spent some time with a Brillo pad on the intake to clean it up.

mall that’s really left to install for a my SS brake lines and I’ll be back on the road!
Love the progress. My experience with those arms is to mark those as well and also check the lock nuts every oil change or so, especially for the first year. I've seen plenty loosen up especially after or during high stress events like autox or road courses. My diff cover looks just like that as well. I wonder if its supposed to be a heat dissipation coating or just paint on the diff cover. Typically they will be the raw aluminum I believe. My car has about 45K miles on it and that looks to be the only thing that was not factory on the car aside from the coils and catback.

Love the arm rest too, thats on my list but they are $$ and I have more restorative maintenance to prioritize first. I've got the knee pad for my clutch foot and I never realized how much I needed one before I had one.

the arm rest is night and day! I think I paid like a hundred for it brand new shipped from Japan. I agree about it being an anti corrosive spray on the diff. I was looking at that while spending some time cleaning up under the car.

checking my jam nuts is a pretty good habit I have already! I tend to check the whole car over every time I have it in the air. Working as a technician definitely has its perks sometimes. 😂

Finished up the SS brake line install. Still feels like there is a little air in the system. So have to get the vacuum bleeder back out and hit it one more time.

got the suspension dialed in and took care of the alignment. Front caster is set a little far forward and tires rub the fender liner, but nothing terrible. Rear end sits about 1” higher than I’d like but rear coils are maxed so I’ll have to live with it.

Before with an eyeball alignment. Front toe went into spec as soon as I got the rear in.

Casters a little far forward but I’m happy with it.

next up rear hatch gets dropped off at the body shop to get a couple rust holes filled, and talk to them about a full respray while the car is there.

It looks like your rear upper control arms are mounted upside down?

(No, I am wrong. Maybe mine are!)

I hope not! The rear uppers are basically the only arm I didn’t take off the car. 😂

Don't trash the OEM arms. Even with bad bushings, someone will want them.

never would! I have a terrible habit of keeping all the OE parts from my builds. They will sit in a box. I even kept the factory radiator for some reason.

Awesome progress with the build. I LOVE the super advan! A lot of folks beef with 3 spoke wheels, your car is an example of how they can look so good. Do you have any plans for a spacer in the back?

Haha, so bad. I have a giant plastic bin of random parts stuffed in the back of my shed too.

You sticking with velocity red for the paint?
also, speed bleeders are cheap and make bleeding the brakes so much easier if you're working alone. Might be worth throwing some on while you're down there. .

unfortunately there already is a 10/15mm spacer in the rear. I can’t recall which exactly. Need to roll the factor quarters, for clearance but my rear coil overs are maxed at the current hight.

I oddly used to hate super advans. Thought they were so ugly, but they’re one of my brothers favourite wheels and I had an opportunity to buy a set like 10 years ago cheap and once I put them on my z32 it was love at first sight.

we have a pressure / vacuum bleeder at the shop. Made quick easy work of getting the air out. I really want to go with Mazda soul crystal red but it’s such and expensive paint. So we will see what my bank account will allow when the time to do a full respray comes.

It a whole lot going on lately. Me and the wife had our first kid come early so the last month has definitely been a learning curve to say the least.

I did get the rust holes on the hatch repaired, and went ahead and had the body shop fill all the holes from the spoiler. So the RE spoiler will temporarily become wall decor in the garage.

got my quick release installed. Decided to go with a D1 spec slim quick release. Same company that makes the circuit sport QR

I also ordered a one off design steering wheel from bridgemoto that should be here in a couple of months.

Definitely looking good. Congrats on the little one. My first kid was the reason why I sold my first FD and my '66 Mustang, sounds like you are doing better off than I was when I had my first so I'm guessing selling the FD won't be in the cards for you.

man I hate that for you. FD is definitely not in the cards to sell. That was a discussion me and the wife had before even having a kid. I have a 92 Nissan Gloria that I imported from Japan that was built to show case my business and then the FD has been my dream car since I first saw Phil’s in super street mag when I was a kid. So, she knew that selling cars was off the table. 😂

Not much going on lately. Been enjoying the car. Finally found a slim quick release I like, ordered a one off steering wheel from bridgemoto, and found NOS pontry red crystal steering wheel bolts.

Super excited to say bridgemoto is my newest supplier for my business and to celebrate I ordered a bucket seat! Was perfect timing cause they just happened to have one in stock that matches my one off steering wheel that I ordered from them and stays with the theme of the interior.

seat is full leather cover and carbon fiber shell. Weighs just 9lbs for the XL size. I’m 6ft 230lbs and I fit perfect.

Just need to pick up some rails and get it mounted!

also got a good deal on an old ATC D shape steering wheel so u went ahead and picked that up as an extra.

Finally had some time to get the bucket seat in! Had to pull it back out to modify the ronin rails, but clearance with the door is perfect good head room as well. Here’s a few photos of the first test fit. I’ll get some finished photos once the seats back in, in its final position.

interior is getting close to my final vision. Im planning on swapping out the OE floor mats for red aftermarket ones, or maybe swap to red carpet and go with black floor mats with red stitching. My carpet is in good condition. Though so doesn’t make too much sense to swap it out.

other than that I’m thinking miracle cross bar or kts / auto exe rear tower
