My Cars Build Thread: Project Roxy
nope, theres almost no gap at all
where the inserts are is kinda inset on the inside of the over fender
yup, my car will be on the track a lot so i want them to be able to be removed and replaced if i get bumped or anything
not to mention that straight up rivets are ugly as all hell
the button head bolts look have a really nice finish

I think if the panel is not completely flat against the body I think you should re think how you mount the threaded inserts into the body; or just rivet it.
I think that if you get bumped hard enough to distroy the fender flare the metal underneath will need to be fixed so I think it is pointless.
I am jealous of some of those nice CF parts you are getting from shine.

looks cheap
Theres pretty much no gap though, plus the 3M double sided tap will also being going along the entire edge of the piece to make sure theres no squeaking or anything so that will also help in showing no gap
I was thinking of the fact that i could replace it easily being a plus...the main reason is for the fasteners...Rivets are butt ugly to just put on the side of the car like that

That should help with reducing the visibility of the gap, but I think if you are using that tape to hold the panels on the car then having like 8 easily removable screws will be the least of your worries when replacing a panel
. That stuff is strong!I think the CF parts will look good on an SSM car as well

, I am just not to sure how well the front bumper is going to look with the rest of the body kit, I think the wheels will either make or break the look of the car due to that bumper. I am not to sure if I like it....yet.

but the 3M tapes main purpose is to keep the 2 panels from rubbing each other and possibly scratching or chipping the paint
It was hard for me to take the plunge on the bumper simply because no one has ever put one on an FD in US and properly done a photoshoot...so i really made my decision on just being the only one with it
I have yet to see how it will look with the rest of the car, but i think its going to come out really nice, lets hope and pray i didn't waist a thousand dollars
plus with the bottom lip of the front bumper painted black, and the canards painted black and installed, i think it should flow well with the rest of the car

Erm...I just noticed though...the front fenders don't match the rear fenders.
Front fenders have a FLAT lip, rear fenders have a SHARP concave-lip... :\
OH wait I see...the rear fenders aren't done being painted yet. LOL I was worried for a sec.

hey guys...heres the pics from today...the car has its first layer of color on it to see any imperfections or waves in the paint
now they're sanding it all down again after fixing any imperfections
but the color looks freaking beautiful!!!
Also they mounted the Canards on the URAS bumper, which looks ******* insane!!!
now just gota paint the bottom lip and the canards gloss black (which will later be wrapped in carbon)
next layer of color will go on monday!!!
