The Monsterbox 4 Rotor
Congrats on all your success! Very hard earned and a lot of work.
No seam or stitch welding? Final curb? Primary function of the vehicle?
In the nicest way possible, my gut tells me this was built to be another uTube car whose main purpose is to generate views / likes and will never compete in sanctioned events or truly be competitive. Personally, I think you've twisted the spirit of the FD into this 'monster' as you describe it. Visually and aurally the car is hands down over-the-top too much imo, but I feel that was ultimately your goal.
I equate a build like this to the drug GHB; where I'm left utterly confused and with a bad taste in my mouth. Amount other heinous things...
ps- I think it's best to keep that mobile coffin off the streets, just my opinion.

@Federighi if this car was built for anything besides personal enjoyment, I'd say it was built for this forum and not for youtube views. Look at the dates in this build thread and then look at dates for some of the earliest youtube videos.
Good luck at the track this weekend, Monsterbox. I do think your car would be more enjoyable if it was quieter and had a smaller turbo, but if I had my choice of any RX7 to borrow for a weekend it would be yours hands-down.

And nope, not stitch welding, no primary function, no purpose. Just a real estate appraiser, who decided he was bored and wanted to **** around

I'm more than sure you've accomplished your goals of experimenting, learning and having fun with your FD. It looks like a hoot to drive for sure! My coffin remark was regarding the observance of posted street limits / laws and that your actions could potentially kill innocent drivers, pedestrians and / or yourself.
The tube vid is titled "Hot Lap...", care to share your lap time?

Now tell us all your high fuel pressure secrets haha.
More seriously, on the mechanical fuel pump topic, do you know what some of those high horsepower lambos and GTRs do? I know they are not as thirsty as a rotary, but at 2k+ hp, they must have had challenges. Just curious about whether they also end up going mechanical or found a way to make electric work. Did you get to see any up close at TX2k21?

I think the best thing about the video is how much you're thoroughly enjoying every moment. It's great seeing someone so happy, definitely made my day.
All gripes aside, congrats on all of your experiments and successes. Your build is definitely solid af and wicked cool.
Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work

haha its actually much higher than that, the drive ratio of the mechnical pulley is set such that it doesn't hit the full base pressure until a certain RPM, which is targeted to be right before the boost/turbo kicks in and full fuel demand is needed. the magic is in the transient throttle settings where the tables are modified with additional axis so that we can tune a wide range of scenarios
It was cool hearing that you met George (T1 GTR driver) in your last video. He's a friend of mine, and I've been hoping he'd get the 4 rotor bug one of these days. Maybe after seeing yours he will 🤣
