Wow, she fired right up. Instantly. Can't even hear the starter. Sounds so amazing. So happy.
No leaks. Just need to work out a bug w/ the TPS. Get the body panels together and film the official start-up video.
Thanks for all the support. Love this forum, love this country.

I wish I had stuck around an extra day to hear it!

thank you guys!
Shes so damn violent and epic with the full-p-port. Its mad loud, so loud it blows your ears out at idle. Its so incredible and invigorating.
Rev's like a monster. Hits 7k crackin' the throttle barely.
Below 1200rpm is sounds like a monster cam v8, so choppy and dangerous. Hear every single fire of each plugs it seems. Then as soon, I mean as soon as you touch the cable it SCREAMS. Around 1-2k is still sounds like a quasi v8/13b/20b, but as soon as you hit around 4k there's this powerful resonance of all the firing order that hits, and it sounds straight up formula 1. Like old school formula 1, so ******* loud its absolutely outstanding. It blows your F*CKING pants off. seriously. The best way to describe the sound is like its a horse thats running. A 13b is trotting a 26b is running, at the same RPM. In person, you get this awareness of Syncopation and Rhythm. And as you rev it, the running accelerates exponentially upwards. So 4k rpm sounds WAY higher than 2k rpm, and 6k 5x higher than 4k. Its absolutely a dream come true. Absolutely no care right now about performance or drivetrain, the sound alone makes it worth every penney
And right now the timing is locked at Zero, the throttle cable isn't seated and adjusted for idle, and the TPS is reading backwards so I need to try swapping the wires or running a TPS w/ reverse range.
CODY GULSTRAND IS A F*CKING GOD AMONG MEN.
There is not a single vendor in the rotary community around here that can touch Cody when it comes to customer service. He's one of a few people who LOVES their job and actually loves cars, and happens to dabble in rotary. And with that comes motivation, inspiration. I message him with the private start-up video and ask about the TPS, immediate response.
And the harness. Let me tell you what. This amazing piece of art plugs in and fits perfect. The guy hasn't even had the engine in his hands or seen the car in person and when we began he took guesses at the dimensions based on the limited pictures we had from NZ. IT FITS PERFECT. I had to lengthen the oil temp and coolant temp sensor wires because I moved them from where I originally instructed to him.
Base map. Let me tell you what. This is how its suppose to work. First time ever, where I've actually pushed the start button and fire up immediately. I mean IMMEDIATELY. Like scared the living **** out of us immediately. A real treat to see an ECU do exactly as intended.
I hope that I'm not speaking to soon on all these things, but I have so much confidence it will go well from here on.
So proud to build this in a storage unit. So proud to do this self-funded. So proud to work with some of the best people. People/friends who love cars and are here working with me because they just simply love being apart of something. Not for money, fame, views etc just because we can sit in a storage unit and its like a playground of chaos. Something rare on this earth now.
Its been and amazing experience. All the downs made this up so much more profound.
I wish i could show you the video! But I don't wanna spoil the fun.
As I said, mark it down on your calendar. We will be Revealing the Formula Seven on November 1st, 2017. You will see the entire car, and hear her scream. You will see what real DIY is all about.
Thank you to PPRE for what so far seems to be a solid f*cking motor. Thank you to everyone who has participated. And thank you to all of those that have doubted this day, because you have provided nothing but motivation!
Thanks again!

I am stoked for you.. I can feel your absolute and utter joy/excitement reading your words. Nothing like firing up a motor for the first time to give you such mixed emotion.. bricking it that you didn't forget to do anything up or drop anything inside and then hearing that sound as it barks into life and it keeps going.. and yes it is running just fine you feel a massive weight come off! LOL! when it's a 4 rotor I imagine that goes up a few factors on both sides! Looking forward to the eargasmic start-up vid!
great stuff....

Is this some kind of twisted joke?!
Man, you are really killing me!
And everyone else...
It's like telling a kid that you have a bag if sweets they would like and then eating them all right in front of their face!
So, seriously.. Is the wait while you get some much deserved beauty sleep so you can look good on camera? You must have some serious case of panda eyes right about now!

8 months from the start of this thread till now...... Talk about progress! Congrats on the first-try fire up, not many can say that, on a four rotor no less.
We happened to meet the infamous Cody Gulstrand at Sevenstock. He was in the garage right next to us. The harnesses he builds not only look amazing but are soooooo flexible.
