Thanks Howard! Wouldn't have been able to make it if I didn't have your help with the iron. You had it ported and in the mail within 3 days notice! Thank you so much. I'm going to be stepping it up to a bit better tire so I'll be taking temps for sure. A few buddies were telling me that my car looked like it had quite a bit of grip compared to other fd's they've seen, especially for running a smaller tire.

In regards to the engine. Zero issues since the weekend. Abel was happy with all the clearances etc on the rotors and so we didn't touch a thing. Simply cleaned. I asked him if I would need to break the motor on and he looked at me.....
then I felt dumb..and took a walk..
haha.... I love GIF'S!!!
But seriously.. no. He said not to break it in. Just beat on it. I did notice an immediate Rise in Vac at idle though It's up to 14.80ish from 13.50ish before at 950rpm.

Update:!!! "Aftermath"
The wolf took a bit of damage over the weekend at ASB. Mechanically sound. But I did notice my oil cooler fans stopped working early Sunday morning. Had a look yesterday and found that my 245/40/18 RSR's had rubbed through them juuuuust enough to most likely blow the fuse. So, I cut the complete damaged section out, re routed it and soldered in new wire, so it's no where near the rub zone now. I used some left over clear heat shrink I had in my shrink bag..... don't know why i love clear heat shrink so much....But I do haha. Also, broke the nifty brake line mounts on my coilovers and saw just how much the tires were hitting everywhere....even with the added clearance. So i've realized and decided.... I'm just going to have to learn to drive on a smaller diameter front tire. Watch this decision come back and Bite me in the ***...probly when I need the grip up front. I also ended up having to remove my coolant over flow because the tire had rubbed through it as well. Made a make shift over flow for the time being out of a "smart water" bottle but I'd like to get something a little more pleasant sooner than later. Also, guess what?!! my dam Helmet came in....after the event. So I stickered it up a bit with my cousins Company "Melin Brand." So the next big decision is going to be how I'm going to run the track event at this years Seven Stock on Saturday November 22nd and then make the Just Drift HTM even on sunday the 23rd. I truly enjoy drifting quite a bit more than driving the circuit for time But it's fun to hit the track every once in a while. I just understand the demands on the car...and My brakes (lets be honest) suck right now. OEM rotors, OEM pads.....They aren't even close to being up to the cars capabilities. I talked to A really nice guy at Willwood brakes this past mazdafest and he said to come talk to him...but I lost track of time and forgot to stop by his booth. Either way, track time is always fun. So here are a couple pictures.
Melinbrand hats
rubbed through
Federal 595 RSR 245/35/18 up front...VERY aggressive for us Fd guys.
fixed
New Section in...re-routed and out of the way
Coolant Overflow woes
Make-shift smart water overflow
Broken Brake Line route mounts.....they're kinda pointless anyways.
And Check out this snap from SuperWowFactory!
Also..if you look in this last picture I have a piece of what looks like wiring....hanging down beneath the car. Well it's not wire....it's actually my AEM water methanol injection line to the rear mounted reservoir. It's not being used right now and the line must've gotten damaged in one of my off track adventures. I'll re-route it before I get to the track next.... actually,...maybe i'll do that today after work.

Arrested Development. I highly suggest you check it out, at least the first three seasons. I'm still not sure about the fourth one that was on Netflix. I'm not too crazy about it based on what I've seen so far. But the first three seasons are hilarious. I've watched it about seven times through and I'm still catching stuff I missed. The GIF he put up is referencing Snoopy, who is laying on the red dog house in the background, and the way he's walking all sad like that is somewhat of a running joke in the show, and the music that plays on the show while he's doing that is from Peanuts also.
Looks like you were gettin' it, Aaron! Good work. I like the Smart Water overflow bottle too lol.

Eh, I don't think it's a bad idea. The bottle might be a little thin-walled, but it fits in the confined space. As long as it's protected, I don't see what's wrong with it lol.

Gearing up for the grip event at seven stock. Won't be pushing excessively hard out there, and I may even skip a couple sessions at Seven stock on Saturday the 21st. And Sunday will be fun-day at Willow again. Just drift is holding their annual Toy Drift event at Horse Thief Mile again. Can't wait to get out there. Visiting a few things I havn't had time to come back to...
Check out the crack in the Front iron
And here are a couple more shots that people have sent me!!
The wolf feels as smooth as ever out there.. Now just to refine the set up!
These were taken on Horse Thief Mile
And another of Clockwise "Streets of willow."

Aaron, I'm glad you were able to get it all together. When it comes down to the wire, only you decide whether you're defeated or not.
BTW, that's a lot a beading on the tires. Was there a lot of debris on the track? What were the track temps and your tire pressures? How much clearance is there around the tire? Before considering stepping to a narrower tire, maybe get your suspension setup for your style of driving and adjust tire pressures appropriate for the track temps.

But if were in the same group.... we'll have to have some fun!!

Debris on the track? At a drift event... you betcha.. bumpers...gravel....dirt...headlights.....small children.... you name it
Are you talking about the fronts or the rears? I'm assuming the rears? I'm only considering stepping down in the front. Although....just drift just announced a street class Drift series that only allows a 235 width tire. But I think I'd like to compete with a bit more heat. We shall see.
But I'll be setting camber to zero in the rear If I can get to it before seven stock. Been overloaded busy lately.

BECAUSE RACECAR

oooh Nice! I wanna say I signed up for the same but I might've signed up for the lesser one. I simply chose not to go out and purchase higher end tires because its damn expensive. Instead I cut myself a budget of no more than $600 for 6 sets of tires. Landed on Federal 595's in sizes 245/40/18 through a potential sponsorship tire shop. Free mounting and balancing too. Not too bad. But as some of you track guys know.... a decent set of tires can land you in the high hundreds before you even blink. The car is set up for drift...but I know I'd be able to push much harder with a nice set of 275's on all corners, I just don't have them to run on haha. And my brakes are still OEM. I'm still going to have fun on track at seven stock. And I'll still have a ton of fun on sunday at WIllow with Just drift. 245's are good enough for me until I can link the entire track.
But if were in the same group.... we'll have to have some fun!!

I've driven two cars on the 595 RSR's and I wasn't very impressed with them. They are however very competitively priced and for drifting they sound like a great option. When you get the chance to drive on something like a 255 or 275 Nitto NT01 or even a Hankook RS-3 you'll be amazed at how much more grip you have. Some fresh Hoosier R7's would blow your mind but those are wallet destroyers that are only fast for a couple events.
I'll be testing out a brand new set of Maxxis RC-1's, I'm pretty excited, never driven them before. If we're in the same group, I will definitely not be able to keep up with you when the track straightens out (123WHP) but we'll see about the corners haha. Should be a blast.

Sounds good man, see you there. I'll be the one in a ridiculous purple firesuit haha, I'll be pitted in the garages.

I'm actually only using the 595rsr's up front They hold my needs pretty well but I did notices they were pretty greasy feeling by the end of ASB on sunday around 2pm. I really did like the Nt05's when I had them...But my contact switched careers on me and I wasn't able to get them for 100 a pop any longer. That was a hell of a deal. They'd be there the next day too. I should've really taken advantage of that. I've never driven on NT01's or Rs3's but I was able to ride in a 400WHP miata that was on rs3's. It was such a mind eff. I couldn't believe how much grip the car had.
Yea I'm not expecting to push the car very hard anyways due to tires and Brakes but It should still be very fun! I'll do my best to keep up through the in field

aaron you're going to like the real track event.
i would at least upgrade to some HP+ pads though. i ran HP+ pads at Barber Motorsports Park when it was hell-hot outside and i didn't overheat them or get any fade while running 265 RE-11 tires. and they are like 70$ a set for brake pads...
