On another note, what roll cage is that?
They were being fairly thorough. They pulled everything to make everything perfectly straight since they thought the shock towers in the rear might have been misaligned from the impact. The car is now 100% straight in every manner.

As for the rollbar I'm 95% sure it's autopower, I haven't looked at it in so long I forgot. I'll get back to the thread to confirm.

Lots of progress on this build, been skipping posting up a couple updates.

Got the car back, put 1k miles on it. And the ignition cut out and it stopped working. Took it down to Angel Motorsports down in LA and John is rebuilding everything. Going full bridge port, extended studs, race bearings, the whole shebang. And I just bought a shiny new turbo EFR 8374. Goal is +500whp with water injection.

If any of you guys are on the rx7 FB page, you might of seen my engine floating around. It's been making a couple rounds since the PO went ultra ghetto on it. Notice the wastegate held shut with metal wire? Or how about the "conservative" tune this engine had. Hahaha

I was reading this thread thinking "Wow, the body shop did a great job. The car looks great. He's gonna be stoked." Then 2 post later you had the whole engine rebuilt, and at that point I figured you had some kinda disposable income.

Now I understand about the complete rebuild. I'm not on facebook, but that last batch of pics enlightened me. The FD can't look like that and have an engine like THAT! Especially with those plates! haha

Nice work, and good job saving her from the PO

hahaha thanks, yeah I've got some disposable greenbacks. I wish I didn't have to. But I've got a couple other builds going on at the same time. So I'm glad I'm able to do things fairly quickly given the amount of cars I'm working with.

Here's the Bronco I'm building for Baja.

And here's the nicest chumpcar Miata you'll ever see. hahaha

Nice car!! Love it . Someone correct me if I'm wrong I'm pretty sure that JIC fitting must not use Teflon tape , only NPT.

Keep it up man , lol make a build threat

Man so quick update to a necro thread.

After the accident and blowing motor after getting it back. I dropped the car off at Angel Motorsports and that started a years long fiasco thats well documented in the bad reviews section of the forum.
After Angel car went to Tri Point Motorsports, then ZerekFabrication, and then finally to Full Detail Automotive in Tampa.

Can't speak highly enough of Mike at Full Detail (cr-rex). We were stationed together on Okinawa and I was there as I saw the obsession for these cars grow in him and I still haven't seen anymore more **** retentive than that crew chief. He managed to pretty much unfuck everything (every single shop installed a different fuel system and each iteration was still improper for my application until him). I have paragraphs of praise for him.

So now. Status of the vehicle. It runs and still has a lot of work needed.
Motor work done was brand new engine, pinned and studded with a bridgeport.
Swapped over to an Adaptronic ED011. Still have the EFR 8374. Currently still breaking it in.

Whats left on the car.
1. Windshield needs to be replaced.
2. Water/meth setup needs to be purchased/installed
3. Need to get a new downpipe fabricated (currently not fitting completely)
- Any recs around ATL area would be appreciated
4. Needs color sanding and painting 99 spec wing
5. Need to Purchase and install the Haltech iC7.
6. Need wheels/tires
7. Dual Oil Cooler upgrade
8. Radiator/Fan Shroud upgrade
9. Differential upgrade
10. Driver side bucket seat/rail
11. Rebuild transmission (or swap)
leaning towards rebuilding the FD trans, but if I can get a shop to do a DCT swap for like ~20k I'm hard pressed to pass on that.
12. Install AC lol
-big regret having a car you haven't driven in +8 years when you were 23 and we were willing to be a billy badass putting up with no AC. But I'll happily accept the couple extra pounds now lol.
13. Upgrade injectors
Can't remember the specific sizes. Just know they can't handle the volume necessary for E85 (rest of the fuel system is E85 ready)

The goal with the car originally and still today is a bullet proof ~400whp track oriented street car. Wanted an FD that could do ~8 track days a year for a couple years without issue, but still nice enough to take for a cruise on the street. Also wanted to maintain as much resale appeal while indulging in a track capable car. No one wants to buy an overly track dedicated FD. I also know HP sells and figured I'd see what the max power this thing produces for advertising but just keep it at 400 when I use it.
