I remember how nice Scrubs rear fenders looked at DGRR last year...I've been wanting to do that since then. Nice!

Thanks! The reflection makes it look like I pulled the fenders, but they're just rolled. Zero cracking too!

So..... the R-Magic catback and resonated midpipe weigh 15 pounds. Combined.

Pretty happy about that, and also VERY happy that my Apex'i ATS spring-loaded silencer slides right into the 115mm tip, and there even is a hole drilled that indexes so that I can bolt it right in. Almost like they designed it to work like this

Rich,
These parts looks stunning. The results are going to be fantatstic I'm sure. But I'm going to ask a fundamental question, because I know how much money you are sinking into your car, and that is have you run the numbers to determine if doing a 20B swap would have yielded you the same level of performance with increased reliability but for a comperable out of pocket expense? I ask because I constantly question myself when faced with this delimma on a path forward on my car.
Regards,
Crispy

For those that don't know....Rich is VERY strong. So strong in fact that he doesn't need the engine lift hooks. He will be dropping the engine in with his bare hands!!

Not so detailed to make sure those LIM intake runners are covered to stop debris from dropping down them.

You know what they say about assuming right Chris?

There are shop towels stuffed down there, just halfway down the runner so that it doesn't ruin the purty picture

Re: 20B..... I've considered it. Right now I'm still in 'ultimate 13B' mode. Plus there was nothing wrong with this engine so I didn't crack the block.

I have an A-spec manifold (dual wg) similar to yours and a GTX35R. Dan didn't get back to me about tweak-it idler pulley and so my only other option is Pineapple idler pulley. Some said Pineapple pulley may touch the turbo with my set-up but looks like your one fits ok. Am I correct?

Bare hands? He needs two hands to lift a short block? What a puss. =)

*sigh* ...makes an *** out of you and me... yes you are definitely smarter than I.

Re: 20B - might be time to make that leap my friend. With the resources you have available and the shop at your fingertips you are the perfect candidate. "ultimate 13B's" aren't what they used to be. I can actually remember the days when 300rwhp was the mark to hit and 400rwhp was the work of a God. My how times have changed! So the next time you pull that block in a few years think 3 rotors and not 2.

crispy

LOL...oh you poor boy. I'm class of '85. I unfortunately don't get out that way very often anymore since the parents moved.

Crispy

Soooo, lots of progress. Engine and trans are in the car, will have some pics soon. My PPF was cracked (again) and luckily I had a spare. The Attain trans pan is thirsty, the trans took over 4 quarts to fill . Hmmmm what else? Pineapple pan hangs LOW under the car, going to have to address that. Aquamist setup has been 'augmented' to inject 525cc of fluid vs the old 325cc. Replaced *another* steering rack dust boot due to melting from heat. The Banzai trans brace is super nice, fits perfect. Also well made and allows you to keep the tranny undertray.

Just need my DP and pair of WGs from A-spec and I'm ready to fire her up

Oh, and please check out www.Modified.com, i think it's pretty awesome to see a stock-bodied (pretty much anyway) FD on their main page. Please support these guys by subscribing, this is one of the few mags to give any exposure at all to RX-7s and rotaries

Disregarding the initial cost of going 20b, I've always thought that sourcing parts would be the bigger issue. It's not like you can give Ray a call if something goes wrong right?
